It's been said that he did but we don't know how serious an offer he put in. But as you said maybe he did put a good offer and it was turned down....I guess it's the thought that counts lol.

It's hard to believe he made a wholehearted effort in 2016, when while doing nothing, he had his choice of 3 of the 4 top QB picks the following year and passed.

Wouldn't he take Jackson in the 2nd round if he was still looking for a QB?

It appears now passing on Paxton Lynch at 20 in the first was the right thing to do but not to draft Hackenberg in the 2nd. I'm sure mac has more pressure than ever to go high in the first for a QB but we will just have to wait and see what plays out with Cousins.

If Mayfield is not Mac's prototypical type of QB and therefore Mac wouldn't take him, then Mac certainly wouldn't take Falk, as he is even less of Mac's prototypical type of QB with his weaker arm.

He does. The human race still exists, doesn't it? If he didn't, the earth would be populated only by animals and plants at this point.

I'm not sure why Falk in the 2nd would be unpopular. He's someone who would serve well sitting and learning for 1-2 years and he very well could be another Derek Carr type of find. Not saying he will be, but the kid has talent.

The difference is Derek Carr, drafted in the 2nd round, started for Oakland right away, no sitting and learning.

Yes, I'm aware. What's your point? I'd rather have my guy sit and learn.

Yes, sitting and learning has worked wonders for the Jets. The point is that there are some QBs who came straight from the second round and impressed the CS enough to start immediately. Let's get one of those rather than Hackenberg II.

According to who? You? Falk will go in Round 2 or 3 according to many people who know a hell of a lot more than you or I.

Falk may be "graded" lower than the second round but let's be real here many a QB get drafted far higher than they are graded. Especially the way the league is today and with how many QB starved teams there are out there it's almost a given he will be taken within the first 2 rounds.

    DRAFT PROJECTION:
    Rounds 3-4

Well done. I see no mock draft where this guy is selected in the 2nd round.

How about any QB drafted by the Jets since 2000 not named Sanchez or Geno (although he was supposed to sit and learn)?

Awesome. NFL.com's website profile saying Round 3 or 4. I said Round 2 or 3. If you haven't seen any mock drafts with him in the 2nd round, you aren't reading many mock drafts. That said, mock drafts and all this stuff this time of year is beyond stupid. Falk will go on Day 2.

Like who? The projects we've drafted? I'm talking about a 1st or early 2nd round pick at Quarterback.

Outside of Hackenberg, who was a known major project, we haven't drafted anyone in either of those rounds that didn't get onto the field almost immediately, aside from Kellen Clemens. Everyone else has been a Round 3 or later pick, a project. I want to take a QB in Round 1 or 2 in the next year or two (more likely Round 2) and sit him for 2 years. It has worked before. It still works. It will work. IF you pick the right QB and IF you surround him with a coaching staff that knows what they're doing.

Again, there is no mock draft that has him going in RD2. I haven't seen anything of that nature, a team must really love him to reach.
