Stays away from him. I'd rather draft a QB or roll with Hackenberg.

    Let's play this out.

I saw on Rotoworld that the Browns are interested in AJ. Would they seriously sign an unproven guy instead of drafting a top QB prospect? They are either:

    A. Stupid, which isn't out of the realm of possibility considering the franchise.
    B. Throwing out a smokescreen to get a team to trade for the 1 pick.

    Draft scenarios

    1. Browns - sign McCarron and draft Barkley
    2. Giants - Rosen or Darnold
    3. Colts - Chubb
    4. Browns - Fitzpatrick or trade pick to QB needy team

Now the Broncos who also need a QB, could draft one or sign Cousins. If they draft one, I have no idea who Jets draft at 6.

Jets could always trade up, but it's unlikely.

Apparently they tried to trade a 2 and a 3 for him. I think they’ll sign him and draft a QB to go with him.

No way do I want McCarron as the "answer" at QB.

Is he more devout than Tebow? We need a God-off to determine our next QB. I only want players tattooed with Jesus in 2018.

He would be a Plan B-4 for Jets, but it adds another FA QB into mix....Bridgewater's ruling
    should be coming soon....

So I’m getting laid and she’s paying? That’s not a bad outcome if you’re a Jets fan.

I would rather sign Case Keemun or Teddy Bridgewater over AJ.

I don’t mind taking a chance on AJ for the McCown role if the Jets don’t sign Cousins. McCarron brings more upside than McCown and can placehold for the 1st rd rookie just as well.

    Or become a bigger roadblock.

Given a choice between starting a veteran like McCarron or starting a rookie, who do you think Bowles will choose?

I think Bowles would start the better choice, whichever that is.

Anyway I think it’s a moot point as I think it’s a foregone conclusion that the Jets get Cousins.

And that's the problem: at first even a great rookie is going to struggle and it's almost certain the "better" QB would be the vet. But if you allow the rookie to play through his early mistakes, in the long run - assuming he's good - he'll be better. McCarron is like training wheels for Bowles, and he'll never willingly take them off.

I agree that the odds are that Cousins is wearing green this fall.

    It would be a mistake..

  16. Passed on Maholmes/Watson.Passed on Aj McCarron trade, passed on trading Petty when he's clearly not in their future plans...

What the hell is this regime's plan on the QB position?? I have a hard time believing paying Kirk Cousins a king ransom has been the thinking all along..

If you are thinking that Bowles regime has/had a plan moving forward, you are making a mistake.

There is no plan and Woody and company has no clue----If anyone thinks that they will draft a Rookie and start him from day one under Bowels that aint happening. I fully expect the Jets to overpay for Cousins its in their DNA they can't change what they are or do no matter how many times they get it wrong !

I don't know but it's convenient that Kirk cousins likes Bates and that happened to occur just recently. Cousins also voiced quite openly he would enjoy playing in his system. Seems like a nice coincidence. I don't think the Jets are that smart to entice cousins this way though...are they?

Actually, passing on Mahomes and Watson now makes sense if Macc was thinking about Cousins becoming a FA this year - a very likely prediction. Signing McCown and going with him and two unproven backups would result in:

    1. Most likely, the Jets achieve a "working tank job", meaning they play hard and don't quit, but their QB play means they win 1-3 games putting them in line for a top 3 pick, or
    2. One of the QBs steps up - Macc hoping it's Hack - and they surprise by winning 3-6 games, taking them out of prime draft pick range, BUT Macc knows Cousins waits in the wings..

I believe Macc is going to go hard after Cousins, and will likely get him.
