They thought they traded for him before the deadline, tough to say with them sitting at the 1 how interested they still are but you never know.
Yea, theoretically it could become a bit of a buyers market at the top of the draft. You could make a case for the first 3 picks being shopped to a qb needy team.
I wonder if Cleveland will try to get him again. And if so, will that take them out of the QB market?
How does he preform in preseason games against 3rd string defender? Cause we need a new camp fodder hero
While I am not about to jump off of the Cousins train just yet it would be really cool if we took someone unexpected to start for us and it worked out. I would much rather get someone for less than $30 mil if we could somehow get the same great outcome (in the win column).
That's not exactly what happened in Cincy now, is it? Was McCarron even drafted to replace Dalton? [Dalton is only 3 years older. And he just received 6 year extension when McCarron was drafted. If you think a 5th round rookie QB was supposed to replace a young, incumbent QB that just received extension, I don't know what to tell you.] And he played pretty well during the short spell too. This happened during Dalton's injury. Why don't you look that up and then have a say about it? ====================================================== As long as Jets don't break the bank for the kid, why the hell not? If he's willing to take 8~10M/yr deal, I don't see why Jets shouldn't reach him. [He's 27 - or as old as Petty. In his regular starts - that is, the 3 games during Dalton's injury - he posted 79/119 for 882 yards and 6 TD/2 INTs. The 2 picks came against the Steelers. If that doesn't look like a decent amount of potential, I don't know what is.]
no chance he takes less than glennon got last year. i'd imagine he will be around 20m/yr. the market is so out of wack
I guarantee that the Browns will still take a QB if they sign McCarron. It just may be at the #4. But then again it would be pure comedy if the Browns failed to draft another franchise QB with 2 picks in the top 4 in a draft deep in QBs. Oh man, still a month to go and free agency is looking to be very exciting. I will be on the edge of my seat each day staring at those twitter feeds lol!
Dalton had a bad year in 2017, and the Bengals were out of playoff contention. If they liked McCarron, they would have played him so they could decide whether to trade him or Dalton. But they never gave him that chance, which is telling. Also the 2015 Bengals were stacked. Dalton was 2nd in the NFL with a passer rating of 106.2 and the Bengals were 10-2 when he got hurt, so what McCarron did (97.1 rating, 2-3 record) wasn't that impressive.
Free agency is going to be nuts and with the browns absolutely nothing is out of the realm of possibility. That’s why I laugh at these mocks right now. How can you even begin to work on predictions?
