It’s believed to be for certain Jimmy Garoppolo will sign with SF the team who traded for him right? Well... Why would he? He would be leaving an incredible amount of money off the table?!?! If his agent has any sense at all he would convince Jimmy to test free agency. If so we need to make this plan A!!

I like the Cousins plan as a plan B simply because he’s been a top 10 QB the past 3 years. Using our #6 on a QB in a deep draft class as plan C. Signing a vet (classic Mac move) like Bradford/Taylor/Keenum etc etc as plan D

Either way we need to figure out our QB situation to be a viable team. I believe Garoppolo is the best option if he becomes available. To be honest his agent is a fool is he’s not telling him this because it’s 10’s of millions on the line.

Don't you think the Niners would franchise him if he wouldn't sign a long-term contract with them? They have a gigantic amount of cap room ($120 million), so I think that's a foregone conclusion.

Edit: JohnnyP beat me to it.

Valid point. That damn FT!! Killing my Plan A dreams!! For sure they would spend $23 mil on Jimmy and leave Aaron Lynch and Carlos Hyde unprotected?

This is really going bizarre with this Board

Rock do you realize we could have signed Jimmy G for practically nothing if that moo moo Idzik had done it???

I screamed for him and got shot down by over half the place here...ridiculous

Now he's lost for good kiddo

Kid prob remembers the steak dinner with John I more than he wants to think about a team that let him walk to NE !!!! of all places..heh

Sorry Rockinz but your post is just too late...Ship sailed ..train left station etc..in short the story of this pathetic franchise and their brain trust

  9. That'd be such a great move for this franchise. He's perfect for the meadowlands & would be a rare shot across the bows of the cheaters. Too good to be true. We can't have nice things

I have no inside knowledge or anything but I just wonder how eager the Patriots would have been to trade him to the Jets. Right down the street and in the same division even if they got a little better pick(s). They did get him literally as far away to the other side of the country as possible.

There's no chance Jimmy G sees the open market. He will be franchised or signed to a long-term deal prior to March 14.

This is a big IF. This isn't going to happen. San Fran will sign him long term before free agency or franchise him. That being said if they franchise him the Jets can make an offer and if San Fran doesn't match I think it is two first round picks. For that I'd do it. Jimmy G looks like he is going to be really good.

IF we sign him add in a poison pill in the contract similar to the one we did with Curtis Martin to make it hard for the 49ers to match.

That being said it's not going to happen but it is fun to dream.

The Jimmy G to the Jets fantasy ended the second Goodell announced the pick to the Pats. They certainly wouldn’t have traded him to the Jets and now that he’s a 9er he’s not leaving, no way no how.

It’s time for the Jets to draft their own Jimmy G, that is option A, B, C, D.

I will be shocked if SF lets him go, but if he does test FA the Jets have to pounce. I'd take him over Cousins/Alex Smith any day.

Given how much cap room they have they would tag him with the exclusive tag, which means he plays for them, period. I will be shocked if they don't negotiate a deal with him with 3 or so years guaranteed, but either way, I can't see any possible way that he is not playing for San Francisco next year.

Bellicheat is a piece of dog Sh#t. He wouldn't give the Jets a used condom after rinsing the contents out with his mouth (a little overboard?) They say time forgives but, hell has no fury like a Jet fan scorned.

Kirk Cousins must have felt rejected by Kyle Shanahan's 49ers when they got Jimmy Garoppolo for a (STEAL) 2nd round pick.
