I hope you are right but I think the Vikings playing at home in the SuperBowl will be a disadvantage. Especially since this team has never been there before. As you mention it will be a corporate crowd on game day. But mostly, the two weeks leading up to the superbowl can be really distracting. Many teams have fallen from that and the Vikes will be at home the whole time hearing about how awesome they are, partyin', thinking they accomplished something. Meanwhile it's just a business trip for New England
This is tough..part of me is saying Tom Coughlin is feeding Marrone all the right stuff on how to beat the Pats On the other hand ..gun to my head ..it's New England by two TDs
More Minny fans will be there rooting for them because they don't have to travel, no hotel room for 3 days etc...so they spend a 1K on extra tix
Nagle, I realize there were a couple of turnovers, but they did drop 45 on the Steelers. Is NE defence that much better than Pittsburghs? 13
The Patriots D is not better. The Steelers are better than them against the rush(Pitt ranked 10th, Pats 20th) and we saw what Fournette did to them. They are almost even in PPG. The Steelers are significantly better against the pass (Pitt ranked 5th, NE 30th). If the Jags can beat the Steelers, then they can beat the Patriots. The Patriots have Tom Brady, but the Jags are #1 against the pass. It should be a great game. I feel out of the four remaining teams, they have the best chance to upset them with Vikings being just behind.
Adam Thielen did not practice today. Super Bowl lines: MIN -4.5 over JAX JAX -3 over PHI NE -3 over MIN NE -7 over PHI
So apparently the Eagles are a shoo-in to beat the Vikings: every team that has beaten Matt Ryan in the postseason in his career has played in the Super Bowl that year.
The jags can absolutely beat the pats. Simple its pass to set up the run. Of they try and run stubbornly, they will lose. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
Imo the Jacksonville D is a little overrated. They played four games against teams that were in the top 10 in passing offense during the regular season and won two and lost two (Pit, Chargers, Rams, San Fran) and otherwise played a lot of mediocre and bad offenses. They played twice against Houston, Indy and Tenn, ranked 21, 30 and 23 in passing offense respectively. Brady hurt his hand in practice today so that may be the more important factor, but the Pats have all their running backs back, so they will be able to take the heat off Brady. I don't see Jacksonville winning this one. Ron
Who's everyone pulling for this weekend to make it to the Super Bowl? I want to see Patriots at Vikings. I want to see Brady lose his last Super Bowl. Then never get back there. Have Gronk drop a td in the endzone like Jackie Smith did in Super Bowl XIII. A play nobody forgets. More Minneapolis Magic for Vikings.
Pulling for Eagles and Jaguars. Thielen returned to practice today. In other news: https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nf...atriots-practice/ar-AAuRchj?OCID=ansmsnnews11
I like that the Patriots and Jaguars play first, so I'll know who to pull for in the 2nd game. Eagles Jaguars is what I want the most but if the Patriots win, I want the Vikings to play them. Probably not betting anything this weekend. Lines are tough, though I may hop on the Vikings for a small bet if I can get them at less than -3.
If the Jags somehow find a way to pull off the monumental upset, and the Vikings beat the Eagles, you will have both road teams advancing to the Super Bowl. Last time that happened was 5 years ago, when the 49ers beat the Falcons in the Georgia Dome, and the Ravens beat the Patriots at Gillette Stadium.
It's rare to see both road teams advance to the Super Bowl. I almost would feel more confident in the Eagles winning at home vs Vikings if the Jags win on the road in the first game. I know one game shouldn't impact the other, but odds are Eagles win if the Jags win first this Sunday.
