I'm sure there's someone that will tell us Hackenberg didn't show anything last summer and that's why he didn't play yesterday. Since Bowles got his extension, its his show and with Petty on the fast track out of town, its time to shit on Hackenberg now for as long as he remains on the roster. Of course there was no reason to play Hackenberg yesterday sez our newly minted HC and QB savant.

Exactly. Everyone shouted for Petty, and ranted about how useless it was to play McCown. “Let’s see what the kids can do.” Well we saw what Petty is. And Bowles did right by him and gave him all three games. Petty sucks. There is no doubt about that now. If he’s better than Hack...then Hack is dog shit. That’s on Mac, not Bowles.
Mehta stated that there is a decent chance that both Hackenberg and Petty could be gone next year. The fact that Hackenberg didn’t get any action in that game shows me that he’s not a lock to make the team next year.

Wouldn't the decision on the starting QB, the 2nd string, and 3rd string be up to Morton? He is the offensive coordinator and I thought Bowles expertise is defense. Call me stupid but don't you think Morton and the rest of the offensive coaches are smart enough to tell if Petty is better than Hack?
I don't care how bad Hackenberg sucks, it was incredibly short sighted to not give him any snaps sunday. Look around the league lots of eliminated teams were giving the bottom roster QBs snaps but Bowles didn't want to risk losing worse than 24-6. What a jackass

clearly he didn't want hack to lead us back to a win and cost us a higher pick /s but all joking aside as much as i would have liked to see hack, I think it was more of petty trying to keep his job. hack will be on the roster next year no matter what, Petty just played himself out of the NFL
