Eli was drafted #1 by San Diego.

He didn't want to be there.

If Darnold is smart he'll do the same thing this year to Cleveland or better yet not come out at all.

I'm not disagreeing with you, but teams like to pick their guy. You don't just sit back and get what's left over.

Rosen is the number one pick. If the Browns don’t take Rosen, the threat of trading out to someone who will is going to force the Giants to trade up to get him.

It took Brees quite a bit to get going - and had to find the right team to excel....will this fan base / media and team be patient for the growing pains?

I'm not sure the Jets are that team.

Young gets one as the starter right? He was back up to Montana for two of those. It's five total with the 9ers, not seven.

You mention mention Montana, what about all the others that weren't the first pick? Those #'s and the percentage is what I meant.

Did you see DArnold play recently? I feel bad for him because he fumbled and threw INT s against OSU

He may stay in school which ups the stakes here dramically

Given your list is entirely accurate - not going to spend the time to fact check
    20 Superbowls out of 51
So you are saying it is 1 1/2 times more likely to win a SB with a QB not taken first.

Young was backing up for two of those. And where was he drafted?

One of the top 5 teams in need of a QB is in all likelihood going to sign Cousins. So that helps trade up chances. If Darnold maintains his draft stock at 1 and he knows it I think if he knows what's good for him he stays in school. He should also realize Cleveland sucks so bad that he's just delaying the inevitable he will probably could be drafted by them next year if they pass on a QB. Any team picking first overall...sucks plain and simple be in Cleveland or not.

Both are trash, let's waste a top draft pick on a air raid QB and projects at that, brilliant, thank God your not a GM

I have no idea. If you are asking if I would rather draft the first QB in a draft or ALL of the other QBs drafted in a draft; I'm sure the second group has 30-something rings and we know the first group has 20 rings (it's not entirely accurate because, for example, Namath wasn't counted, etc). However, since we're unlikely to select ALL of the 2nd through 15th QBs taken in this draft; you have to settle on one spot as a comparison to the 1st QB taken. I know the #s regarding the 4th QB taken because there was a moron last week saying the first QB taken was no more likely to win Super Bowls than the 4th QB taken.

This. I think there's a better chance the Jets could get Cleveland to drop from #1 to #6 (and draft a QB at #4 or #6), than there is of getting the Giants to pass on Darnold at #2 (and trade down to #6).

I do not think the jets should trade up--too many needs to give up picks. Also, they should not take a QB at pick 6 just for the sake of taking a QB. If one of the top 3 QBS is not there, move down and get more picks and maybe still get Jackson, Mayfield, or Falk if so inclined. MM took four DBs and 3 receivers in last year's draft. How about considering some other positions this year?

I believe this but not the pick Cleveland trades....I think they want the pick of the litter so I think they may be willing to trade their #4.

Well the first pick doesn't guarantee anything then does it. And you're just as likely to score after the first pick too.

They're picking 6th and you're declaring they won't pick anybody 2-15. Okay, if you say so. It's hopeless. Have a good night.

The pressure to take a QB is going to be intense for MM. I think it will come from the top he needs to get a QB to appease the fans and media as that's what woody likes to do. He may trade down but not by much.
