Honestly, I don't think any offensive player is indispensable right now. That is how bad we are on that side of the ball and it's a result of taking so many defensive players, WR busts, and shitty QBs with high draft picks.
They need a much better center than johnson or harrison. Johnson was ranked 34th in nfl (that's right behind other team's backups) and harrison could not beat out johnson. Need a major upgrade.
They will bring back forte and mcnown and waste another year with the old vets. bowles loves players over 30.
Doesn't matter who you have at CB without a resemblance of a edge rusher, I'm sure we'll find one about the same time we land our FQB
I have had that same feeling aa I was feeling the same way about Robbie, but he is definitely one of those diamonds in the rough that weve been needing to find for years. Many wr's are divas...i hope he turns out to be in it for the love of the game and to prove so many doubters wrong. I think he may be loyal to the Jets...but good receivers need good qb's. I wouldn't expect any decent receive to want to play with the Jets qb's.
If i was a wr and i knew Petty was gonna be the back up again i would ask for a trade. Mckown always gets hurt. We need a FQB...PERIOD
Robby deserves a raise. If he doesnt get one before his contract is up i think he will end up somewhere else. We have to pay our talent.
Wilkerson, Forte, Skrine, Devin Smith, Ijalana. Those cuts alone will get us to 100 mil in cap space. But, there are moves that can be made in order to create more but are riskier and not as no brainer as the ones above.
The OP is wrong about Anderson. Obviously he is a good WR. However, he does have an interesting 2018 season coming up. The chance to make big money is there. As for cuts: Wilkerson and Forte are my main ones. I think I actually would keep Skrine as odd as it sounds. Petty too, at least for Training Camp.
I would LOVE to see McCown back next year. However, the track record for jets QBs who broke their hand kinda scares me....
You cut Petty because in 3 years he's proved to be a low tier 2nd QB. The team has to move on. His play and stats don't lie
you have to keep Robbie Anderson, hes a RARE UFA that the Jets found and developed. I dont think hell want ridiculous money either
