Actually he was. He ran a 4.71. 40 time is overrated. Cornerback is just not a top 10 pick in my opinion. They're too easily neutralized and the bust rate is extremely high on these players. If you were to look into the success rate at certain positions I'd bet corner is one of the largest bust rates. It's also a low impact position. They usually can help to slow a passing attack but the impact plays are few and far between. You can figure out how to scheme around a shitty or average secondary a lot more than you can around a shitty or average pass rush. If we're going defense I want a pass rusher or a playmaking safety. We've tried both the corner and 3technique route. It hasn't worked in recent years. Let's try a different way to build our defense.
Excellent point! The first "D" pick needs to be an immediate impact on pass rush. The only possible exception MIGHT be for a great S who can cover up all the mistakes the rest of the secondary makes, but I would still prefer the pass rusher who also helps the secondary by taking away time for the QB to pick them apart.
I don't have hate for Lattimore, but would definitely not take him at 6. What's really strange and unsettling, is that in every foto I see of him, there's an eerie blurry image in the background. A sort of distorted humanoid form that appears to not have its limbs fully formed, nor attached. In the upper center of the blur, I see tones of green with hints of white. The white tones swirl, almost purposely, into a what appear to be numerals. Though difficult to make out, small fragments of its lower core seem to be in free fall. The fragments are collecting onto an open, stone box like grave. In each foto, Ghostly transparent arms always reach for Marshon Latrimore from the grave. Focusing .. I can also make out lettering on the stone .. it reads Spoiler: Will Share The Fate Of Dee Milliner I have a gut feeling this guy is gonna be injury prone ...
Lattimore is the one who has the measurables more then the actually time at the position. He's good and has the most potential to be a shut down corner. Hooker is known as the best DB in that secondary and many OSU fans said Conley was the actual better cover corner last season.
I'm terrified of taking a CB that high, especially when this is being touted as one of the better CB classes in a while. I'm hoping they take one of the safetys, Fournette, or Howard if they don't trade back.
Because you don't waste a #6 pick on a CB who has played only one season due to injuries. And who has he covered in that one year? Also, because there's an elite TE who can both catch and block and will add a whole new dimension to our offense.
It was in no particular order. If Mac takes anyone besides Howard Round 1, he should get fired before Round 2.
TGG is a joke.. Jets shutout at Denver with our "best" QB and now has Offense with no QB but lots of field goals going forward oh yeah ..heres an idea M Latimore to solve our problems...pathetic vision OMG this place is a train wreck
Actually it was mostly everyone else that was right. Those that stated he was good but very injury prone. 1st season not even over and he has missed, what, 4 games and parts of another? Nothing like hedging your bets as usual
But when healthy he's a top CB in the league. You take that at 6. You trust in your strength and conditioning program to keep him on the field.
You don't think the Saints have a good strength and conditioning program? "When healthy" really means nothing if he misses 30% of the games.
Oh man this is great. Important reminder about our evaluations of players... Only thing is it's only been almost one season. Let's see how he and others picked around him do longer term.
