Bowles is considering using the option to avoid letting Petty throw the football.

Only this season was wasted? How about every season from 1970 to this season?

Absolutely, now we get the best safety or DL on the board guaranteed.

Well, in the second half if you closed your eyes, you could almost see Gailey up in the booth calling plays. It was either screens and draws OR obvious pass plays on 3 and distance that require time to develop. Morton didn't do Petty any favors yesterday especially knowing that the kid had ZERO reps with the starters.

Fckn crime what they're doing to Petty. Once again, they put the kid in AFTER THE TEAM AND THE COACHING STAFF QUIT on the game. What a shocker things happened the way they did.

I guess they'll have Petty running the scout team this week too instead of getting 1st team reps. Best way to ensure your QB sucks especially if you hate his guts.

To all those people that whined about Petty not getting a fair shake... I hope you're ready for a whole lot of old posts being dug up in about 2 weeks.

Petty made some bad throws no doubt yesterday. Lets see what he does Sunday and we should have a good idea where he stands as a potential starter in this league.

mcclown has played his last NFL game. That's why he was crying in yesterday's presser. The realization that he will never play another game hit him

Wouldnt hurt to see some practice reps with the starters. He's had zero reps since last year except for the scout team and practice squad.

Well Petty is going to get his reps this week. Sucks for McCown, but it'll be nice to see what Petty has in him for four games.

After seeing McCown for 12 games, I feel like I know what we have personnel wise on this team.

Hopefully Petty can prove everyone wrong.

McCown confirmed as done for the season. Watch us go in for Matt McGloin or some other JAG.

Assuming the Jets go 1-3 or 0-4 they will be in a good spot to take a BPA, blue chip player or QB.

With this porous offensive line? Against playoff contenders? [All remaining teams are going to make a deep playoff run come postseason.]

This is what I want you to remind yourself - and know that Dolphins aren't even a playoff contenders that every other team Petty has to face.

That would be an even worse mark on Maccagnan in a season where we are pretty much eliminated from playoff contention. Maccagnan would be an idiot to go after a free agent backup when Petty and Hack are rotting on the bench.

While they haven't been world beaters by any stretch, I think the OL has been pretty solid for McCown so far. Considering they were supposed to be an abomination before the season started, I've been pleasantly surprised.

But my point was, I've seen the Offensive Line with McCown at QB. I thought it was solid. I now have a frame of reference for evaluating Petty.

If the OL looks like a JV squad with Petty under center, I'll be more inclined to place more blame on Petty.

The Jets-like move would be to throw like $10 mill annually at soon to be free agent Case Keenum now that the Vikings are carrying him to a division title
