Well, Jets have shot themselves in the foot, as the Jets do...can't even tank right. That said, current draft order up to the Jets pick and a few spots behind it. #1 Browns (likely to draft a QB). #2 49ers They may or may not draft a QB, probably leaning towards not. #3 Giants, likely to draft a QB. #4 Bronco's. Unlikely to draft a QB unless they've lost faith in Lynch, Osweiller and Siemien. #5 Colts'...If they view Luck as physically viable they're not in the market, but if they're concerned they are in the market. #6 Bears..I doubt they're in the market, but they could be. #7 Chargers. Could likely be in the QB hunt, Rivers is getting old. It really depends on how they View Cardale. #8 Bengals. Might be, but I doubt it...depends on who's on the board? #9 Cardinals. In the QB Hunt. #10 Oakland...the only team in the top 10 I can say with certainty isn't in the QB hunt. #11 Browns...already mentioned. #12 Jets....definitely in the market. #13 Redskins.depends on if they resign Cousins. #14 Miami...? #15 Buc's nope. Jet's are pretty much screwed if this order stays in place.
I can see the Giants putting together a few more wins...my guess is we end up just inside to top 10 @ #9.
Everybody in that top 10 except for the Bears and the Raiders will be potentially looking at QB's. I think the Jets have to be in the top 5 to have any chance at a prime QB prospect. Realistically I think they need to be in the top 3 to get either Darnold or Rosen.
http://www.tankathon.com/nfl has the updated draft order including the games from earlier. As of now it has us at #7 overall.
Browns remaining games: Chargers, Packers, Ravens, Bears, and Steelers 49ers remaining games: Bears, Texans, Titans, Jags, and Rams Giants remaining games: Raiders, Cowboys, Eagles, Cardinals, and Redskins Colts remaining games: Jags, Bills, Broncos, Ravens, and Texans Bears remaining games: 49ers, Bengals, Lions, Browns, and Vikings Broncos remaining games: Dolphins, Jets, Colts, Redskins, and Chiefs Dolphins remaining games: Broncos, Pats, Bills, Chiefs, and Bills Bucs remaining games: Packers, Lions, Falcons, Panthers and Saints Cardinals remaining games: Rams, Titans, Redskins, Giants, and Seattle Texans remaining games (Browns owns pick): Ravens tomorrow night, Titans, 49ers, Jags, Steelers, and Colts Raiders remaining games: Giants, Chiefs, Cowboys, Eagles, and Chargers
With the exception of possibly passing up the Bears, we're probably at the best case scenario. We better hope that SF can maintain that #2 slot & has a willingness to trade down, because NYG & Denver won't pass on a QB. I find it hard to believe CLE would pass on a QB and trade down again, unless it's only to slide back a spot or two, where they can still get a top QB.
Tank on Tank on Tank on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just let Toilet Bowles look off into the distance and the fumblling and bumbling to continue!!! LMAO Sorry guys but if I had a xmas wish it is that we arrive safely at 4-12 (very good possibility) and not worry about other teams which are hopefully due for a win After that If Mac screws this up I am done as a 49 year fan and wont look back
I would rather sign cousins and then use the 5th pick on Barkley. If the 49ers pass him up, there is a good chace he will be there for the 4 and 12 jets. Use both 2nd rounders online and you transform the entire team/offense. Another option is to sign cousins, draft oline at #5 and then go with bryce love with the first second round pick.
Updated draft order 1) Browns 2) Giants 3) 49ers 4) Broncos 5) Colts 6) Bears 7) Browns (via Houston) 8) Buccaneers 9) Cardinals 10) Jets Very possible Jets will need to trade up into the 3 spot to get 2nd tier QB. Browns may like what Kizer is doing - Giants certainly will go QB. 49ers will want to trade out of the pick with Jimmy G at QB now and Broncos will be going after a QB too. Whether that's in free agency or through the draft, Broncos may hold a lot of power in this situation.
Case Keenum playing well puts him the mix for a starter job next year, if Bridgewater gets his job back
At least 2, possibly more, QBs will be gone by the time we pick. I can't envision the Browns, with 2 top 10 picks, trading down again, unless it's simply swapping spots with the Giants. You're probably looking at at least 2 1sts & 2 2nds just to start trade-up dialogue, and unless it's for Rosen, it's not worth it. It looks like our QB is coming via FA. I just hope we finally invest in a blue-chip O-Line prospect.
Bridgewater is a free agent at end of this year. No reason why they should bring him back if Keenum is playing well. They have their starter.
You don't think they can get a QB with the 10th pick? They might go oline and pick up a QB, like Luke Falk or Jackson in 2nd round.
They could but I'm not sold of Jackson as an NFL QB just yet. The draft order today won't be the same at season end and I do believe that both the Patriots and Saints games will be losses. Chargers are a good team and with playoffs within reach for them, they may kick into high gear and play their best ball yet. Broncos are dead and are in full tank mode. I'm thinking of all 4 games, Broncos game will likely be the most winnable of the bunch. Also, the reason I said we may need to trade up is because there are plenty of QB needy teams in the top 10 and there are only a handful of premium QB prospects coming out. I would think Rosen and Darnold are gone with picks 1 & 2. After that, it will be an absolute free fall and I expect there to be a lot of movement within the top 5-7 picks of the draft.
They could probably get Mayfield, but I would rather wait (errr maybe wait) and take Jackson or wait on Falk.
I’m down to give whatever it takes to get into SFs 2 spot if the Browns take Rosen. Assuming of course Darnold enters.
I don't want Mayfield, he has some good QB skills but you need the whole package as an NFL QB. Rosen, Allen, Darnold, Mayfield, Jackson and Falk will be gone before the 3rd round starts. That's 6 guys gone in first 2 rounds. Hopefully Jets select one of them, they can't leave this draft without a young potential FQB. I would be pissed if Mac selected a defensive player over one of those 2nd tier guys in the second round.
