Odd story. Today I was at a restaurant and this old man came up to me and said "You have a nice car son, but green is bad luck." I asked him what he meant and he said many people feel Green is a bad luck color and you shouldn't get a green car. I told him about my love of the Jets and he said "You've watched them, can you tell me Green isn't bad luck?" Sadly, I could not. Haha. So 2 Questions: 1. Has anyone on here heard that Green is bad luck? I had never heard that my whole life. And 2. Should the Jets change color schemes and go back to Titan Blue and Gold or something? Worth a shot.
I purchased a green car in 2008 and another one in 2015. They have been good. I am not superstitious though. The Jets did win a Super Bowl in 1969 too, wearing Green, so I am not so sure that is the reason.
I think it goes back to really early car racing or something? Sounds vaguely familiar. I had a deep green car, because, well, Jets. Lasted me 15 yrs. Green was always seen as a the color of hope, nature, fertility, prosperity, money . . . also envy and sickness. Being an artist, I know my colors symbolism-wise. If you're that nervous about it, throw a pinch of salt over your left shoulder and turn around clockwise three times. Strega, haha.
That's an old tale. Green was supposed to be unlucky in early English car racing. That held up until Jaguar raced green cars and won.

Don’t think the green is where the bad luck spawns from Personally it’d be very sad if they switched from Green.Its the very reason I became a Jets fan in the first place..it certainly wasn’t the winning or swagger
Same here. I have always loved green and it had to be a reason I was drawn to the Jets. Very true. Gotcha. Yeah the guy who told me this was old. Probably in his 70's at least. Haha, thanks! Yeah, I had never heard of that before.
Well....my first "car" was a red chevy blazer that i saved up for working all through high school Bought it after my freshman yr of college (worked as much as i could that summer too). On my way back to school It burst into a ballof flames on the jersey turnpike with all my belongings inside Next truck Was a blue mirusibishi 4x4.... That thing was cursed and basically a POS Then briefly had a teal cherokee... Tranny started to slip so i Traded it in for a new 2000 silver nissan frontier.... That im still driving 17 yr later (although driving through an Irma tornado has done weird shit to it) Maybe the jets should be silver.... Or maybe i should test a green truck next time. Wait. Is this about football?
All you guys with your painted first cars. My first car was black primer, stayed that way the entire time I had it. It was a '69 GTO though so paint job didn't bother me.
You should find something else to take up your time then posting on TGG with the silliness U posted. Oh BTW the NYJs were wearing white & GREEN when they won SB3. U probably missed that game
About ten years ago, I tried to buy a Harley Davidson and was surprised when the salesman at the dealership encouraged me to pick another color than the emerald green that I wanted. He said that green was an unlucky color for bikes.
