Taken from today's NJ.com: http://www.nj.com/giants/index.ssf/2017/11/giants_jets_scheduled_to_scout_sam_darnold_josh_ro.html I guess so far only the Giants are in good position to draft either one of these kids assuming they enter this year's draft. Macc may have to spend quite a bit of draft capital to move up. I wonder if he'd be willing to gamble considering the stakes. I hope Macc goes for it. Roll the dice and see what happens. We might as well take a chance and hope we luck out just once.
I’d love to see the team go the trade route if need be..esp for Rosen bc he’s such a good fit. But look at the GM & who the coach most likely will be..they’ll go w the veteran;Either Cousins or Taylor.Mac isn’t about to abandon his BAP draft philosophy which almost always results in a defensive player Round 1 & Bowles isn’t about to pound the table for an offensive player early bc he never has much less at the expense of another veteran QB.. This just isn’t the right dynamic to go the route we all want..which makes what Buffalo is doing all the more infuriating
I am pretty sure both Mac and Bowles know they need to deliver a franchise QB this year. Either via draft or free agency. I don't mind trading up at all if they think Rosen/Darnold is their guy. I think this is they year Jets will go all in for a franchise QB. I hope I am right.
I still don't understand why we passed on Watson and Mahomes and brought McCown. We didn't even have to trade up. They were there for us to take them.
Taylor would be an unmitigated disaster. Yet another attempt at kicking the can down the road. I'm 33 and legitimately afraid I'll never see the Jets win the Super Bowl in my life time. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
Relax bro, cryogenics has come a long way. If it looks bleak when your 65, get frozen and have them thaw you out the moment they win an afccg
Mac and Bowles really should trade up for a qb if they want a few more years of security. Grab a highly touted rookie should buy them 3 more years before the seat gets hot. Conversely, they sign cousins and it’s playoffs or bust next year as it should be .
This couldn't be farther from the truth. In the previous years in the Mac / Bowles regime, when has BPA not been a defensive player in the Jets specific position in RD 1? The only one I see is MAYBE you take Watson over Jamal Adams, HOWEVER Adams was the consensus top player in the entire draft after Garrett. 2015 - Leonard Williams consensus BPA; fans here were clamoring for Kevin fucking White. Cooper was already off the board. 2016 - Darron Lee; this one you can "argue", however fans here again clamoring for another shitty draft pick in Paxton Lynch, some Treadwell love here and there. However Lynch is 110% trash and I have more fingers then Treadwell has catches. 2017 - Jamal Adams easily BPA; lmao people wanted Mike Williams; Patrick Mahomes who hasn't even taken a snap yet. Imagine if Jet fans drafted players? We would be stuck with Kevin White, Paxton Lynch and a bunch of other garbage. I wouldn't be shocked if the Jets at some point took 2 QBs this year if the BPA fits.
Agreed, there needs to be some sort of combination of QB / OL, not exactly Mac's strong suits so far but maybe he will prove us wrong.
I got an alert yesterday that said the Jets love Josh Allen and that they've done the most work scouting him to date.
Giants will be selecting second unless they suddenly become functional which isn't going to happen. Jets will have to trade away a ton of assets to draft Darnold or Rosen, they would in essence have to leap frog the giants in order to do so and I just can't see Maccagnan trading away all those 1st round picks to make it happen IMO. I'm just trying to figure out whether the Browns will go QB with the first pick - they could trade it for a kings ransom - but they have so much draft capital that they could theoretically trade back up into the 1st in order to select their QB and get a stud like Barkley with the #1 pick
