As I'm watching the Yanks lose tonight it reminded me of all the horrible losses of my Jets fandom.

    1) 1998 AFC Championship
    2) 2010 AFC Championship
    3) 2004 AFC Divisional-Doug Brien

I'd imagine those are the top three for everyone

The 86' @Browns in the playoffs was my worse.

Do we have to revisit this every year? We all know what they are. Everyone who makes this thread act like there's some hidden gem of a heart breaking loss that everyone forgot about.

But since the game has kicked off, I'll play.

The 2004 home game vs. the Ravens will piss me off for all eternity. Good Ravens defense on the ropes in the first half. Driving the ball down their throats in the first half, and I specifically remember Curtis Martin having a great day against a good run defense. Offense being criticized for being predictable at times during that season.

So what does the wonderful Paul Hackett do?

LaMont Jordan option pass in the red zone! Fuck yeah! Tosses a beautiful floater right to Ed Reed in the end zone and he returns it 80 something yards.

I was at that game. Just lovely. Just found the clip. Here it is! 14-0 at the 20 or so with a minute and a half left in the game. The air was sucked right out of the entire stadium. SOJ feeling from every single fan in the stands.

It's at the 49 second mark.

Here's another one. 2006 Chris Baker force out rule vs. the Browns. The rule was abolished shortly after. If you were teaching officials what a force out was, this was literally the definition of a force out. I believe that was right at the end of regulation as well. Pennington threw a beautiful pass to Baker, although with two defenders on him, tossed his ass right out of bounds.

    The Heidi Game.
Sure, I was just a little kid that loved football, but the world was turned upside down that night.
In hindsight it was my future as a Jets fan.

I was working and was listening to that game on the radio, just devastating. That season was a roller coaster going 10-1 and limping in, but thought we had it back on track after Chiefs win.

For me though the AFC Championship Game Mud Bowl was the worst.

Probably hardly anyone on this board knows that the loss to KC in the 69 POs was the worst loss to sit thru because it meant that the NYJs would not advance to SB4

The Jets would have had to still get past Oakland in the AFL Championship to advance to SB4.

For me it has to be 2010 as I took a 8 hour drive to the game in Pittsburgh not to mention it was so damn cold I couldn't feel my body in the second half ... I was ready to go to Miami for the super bowl as back then tix were only around 2 grand ...

And it get better on the way home we got pulled over HA

Another game that comes to mind is the last game of the 97 season after a 1 and 15 season as we all remember we were about to become the first team to go from 1 to 10 wins we held Barry Sanders in check for the first half and then he exploded eventually being carried off the field by his teammates ... that one stings for me since I was only 13 years old and the Jets were my life !

A few other mentions ... the 98 AFC CG the Doug Brian game ... and the 2009 game against the Colts we were up 17-6 with around 3 minutes to go in the half when Peyton marches down the field for a TD right before the half if we go into halftime up 17-6 we win the game !

Since we get one of these threads annually, I've decided to start dating them just for historical purposes.

This was the worse Jet loss ever for me. its not even close and I know it was not for the super bowl
I get upset just reading about it. If you are to young to remember it, then watch it and you will understand why. I had to work the overnight after this game, the longest night of my life. Dammit, that hurt

The Mud Bowl bar none. Because that was a legit powerhouse team that should've been a contender for years. And it turned out to just be the Jets.

FWIW, most Pats fans put the Jets win over NE in the 2010 playoffs at LEAST at 3rd place on their (our) list of worst losses. My Jet fan nephew still likes to bring it up. "Keep it up, buddy... we don't have to write that birthday check." LOL
