Shell did decent all day until the final drive when Hightower who weighs 50lbs less just bull rushed him right into Mckown. As as decent as the oline has been pass blocking, their run blocking has been pretty bad.

Bowles has done an awesome job coaching this year. I wanted him gone before the season started and he still struggles a bit with clock management as all Jets coaches do.

But I have to give him credit. He's putting players in the position to succeed. The youngsters are developing and getting better every week for the most part.

We need to start manufacturing a pass rush if the 4-man rush isn't working. The secondary has played excellent for the most part.

Bowles is earning himself a stay here as our coach for the longer term.

Jacob garret was terrible with clock management too at first. He's much better.

Not to mention giving brady the ball back at the end of the first half. I mean, how many fucking times do you need to watch that asshole score before you just milk the clock?

Eh but this is Bowles third season, not his first.

Is Dick Curl around? Isn't he the whiz we hired as our clock management specialist under Herm? Not that it got remotely better with Herm.

But we as fans shouldn't be screaming for timeouts and urgency and whatnot during games. If we can see it, why can't this coaching staff?

Taking our sweet ass time to get the play and line up in two minute drills needs to be fixed. Sometimes we also need to just live with a delay of game. Especially on our first drive in the third quarter. Third down or not, live to fight another play, another drive. Those were on McCown though.

    Btw, @zace whose Jacob Garrett?

Bowles has done a great job this year. But agreed. This is also on the quarterback and offensive coordinator as well.

Can we call two plays in the god damn huddle and just get on the ball? I don't understand why we lolligag around and watch the clock tick.

It was the same thing with the wonderful tandem of Fitzpatrick & Gailey so I'm starting to wonder if it's Bowles, or what.

Duh. I googled Jacob Garrett and found a Black Sails character. I thought it was some sort of death joke or something about someone running out of time in life lol.

i think the verbiage is very long, the call to the headset than mccown spitting it out in the huddle seems to be taking too long. its has to be fixed

Yeah, noticed that in the Browns game too.

Saw Bowles in Bauer's face again hard after the clip call on Coleman, so you know it's in house too. Also when Bauer was blowing Edwards after the fake punt and Edwards came out late for the FG attempt.

Clock management is one of the most basic aspects of a HC's job, and the fact that Bowles STILL can't do it after three years is inexcusable.

We were all singing his praises for being aggressive last week at the end of the half.

Do you manage the game the same way when you're facing Brady as you do against a rookie like Kizer?

Bowles always seems to fall back into this slow and steady wins the race type thing. It works if your defense holds because McCown is very efficient at short yardage situations but once they get down in score it becomes too conservative.

If anything you have to be even more aggressive when you are facing a better team

    He sucks at that aspect

Come to think of it. Who manages it well?

    Pats
    Falcons
    Packers
    Chiefs

I think we keep him because I don't think there will be any one better out there. For all his faults we know what we are getting with Bowles. Unless someone like David Shaw becomes available which I doubt, who else is worth taking a chance on?
