You talk as if we're the Browns. We've been to two AFC Championship games in the past decade. We won ten games just two years ago. To suggest that we're a perpetual doormat is nonsense, we just haven't won the big one, which is frustrating, but doesn't justify rooting for your team to lose deliberately.
Not rooting to lose the management does that for us. Just bought into the tank job they were selling us. Plus didn't want any reason for Bowles to return. I would love it if I weren't rooting for them to lose, but bad management from top to bottom is the main reason why fans are rooting for them to tank. Basically, the Jets screwed up hiring these two guys in the first place. These guy and the owner are going to be the reason why the Jets probably don't accomplish anything worthwhile in the next 2-3 year.
If 2-2 is depressing then next week you'll be speed dialing a psychiatrist after they beat Cleveland to go 3-2. After that? When they end up with 6-7 wins overall you'll be fully institutionalized by the end of the season.

People are going to start fearing the Jets if they beat the Browns next week. It's really embarrassing to lose to a bad team later in the season and all the good teams on the schedule are going to wonder who draws the short straw and gets upset.
Misunderstanding. What's depressing is saying "2-2 baby" as if 2-2 is something to be excited about. If we were 3-1 or 4-0 it would be different. But shows how far our expectations have fallen.
