    Some good games this week.

NO @ Carolina should be a contender vs. pretender type of game. Carolina is an incredibly week 2-0 just muscling through their first two wins. Cam Newton seems to be banged up in multiple areas of his body. For the sake of my fantasy team I'm hoping he rebounds this week. They still haven't done much in addressing their tackle situation signing a so-so Matt Kalil and starting fifth round draft pick Daryl Williams on the other side while drafting offensive weapons instead of lineman. New Orleans badly needs a win.

Tampa Bay vs. Minnesota is another one of those games although Minnesota certainly looks like a contender this year if Bradford can get healthy. He has a full year in the system rather than two weeks like last season. Tampa Bay is a team on the rise but they need to take the next step in a hell of a tough division that only truly has one bad unit in the entire division (Saints defense).

Seattle @ Tennessee could be an ugly game in terms of scoring. Both teams have good defenses, scrambling quarterbacks of good ability and Tennessee had a two-headed monster at runningback and a bruising offensive line. I'd expect to see a lower scoring game. Maybe 20-13 type of score. Seattle has tried investing higher draft picks in their offensive line but to no avail. Ifedi (RT) is a first round pick, Justin Britt (C) is a second round pick and Luke Joeckel (LG) is a former first round pick. Seattle's window could be closing after this year as their defensive studs are getting older and deeper into their expensive contracts.

Giants @ Philadelphia is a do or die game at the start of their tough road trip. They could be staring at 0-4 after they go on the road vs. the Buccaneers next week as well. Luckily for the Giants, the Eagles offense has looked very one dimensional and the Giants secondary is solid. Key to this game is going to be tackling Wentz and more importantly keeping him in the pocket. He makes big plays and is a good decision maker once he breaks the pocket.

Texans @ Patriots opens at a 12.5 spread and probably with good reason. Belichick dominates rookie quarterbacks and I don't see this being much different. He'll find a way to keep Watson in the pocket and limit his explosive plays on the ground. Patriots defense looked vulnerable week one though and they struggle with speedy players coming out of the backfield. Bill O'Brien's best bet is to try to emulate Andy Reid's gameplan and use a lot of misdirection with his speedy players out of the backfield.

The NFL has seen a loooot of shitty low scoring games and lopsided games in general through two weeks. It isn't always the case where one team is way better than the other as could've been the case with Packers vs. Falcons. It just seems like a case where one team shows up and the other doesn't. Hopefully we see some better more well rounded football as some offenses start to finally get fricken rolling here.

I think Atlanta at Detroit might end up being the best of the weekend.
Atlanta is for real, but Detroit is better than a lot of people realize.

Tonight will be good to showcase Aaron Donald in Wade Phillips 3-4 defense where he's not on a pitch count.

We've talked a lot about the defense potentially limiting Leonard Williams. Donald is the best interior lineman in the league, but let's see how he looks as a 3-4 end.

We want 49ers to win right?

Yes I'd think so. Rams have Goff for now and we are rooting for the remaining winless teams to win a game.

Rams punt returner looks like Kalif Raymond on a terrible muff deep in his own territory.

By the way, Raymond was re-signed to the Jets practice squad after being released a couple of days ago.

Seems pretty clear that the Rams are better than the Niners, so that's another reason we need to root for the Niners as the team more likely to be competing for the #1 pick.

That defense as a whole looks good under Wade Phillips.

McVay is showing why he was a sought after coach despite not having a lot of experience. His playcalling has been magnificent. Using the run to setup the play action passing game and putting Goff in the right situation to use his legs, throw on the run and more importantly setting up plays with a lot of check down options.

Goff isn't scared to check the ball down when his first couple of reads aren't there and he looks a lot better than I ever thought he would. They also went out and got him some help by acquiring Sammy Watkins, drafting Cooper Kupp & Gerald Everett and signing some legitimate offensive lineman in Whitworth and John Sullivan.

Offensive line is the one position group where age can be ignored a little bit. You need to protect your quarterback and especially your young quarterback at all costs. Even if it means ponying up some dollars for some older veterans.

I'm hoping we follow this blueprint to an extent. I'm OK with signing stopgap offensive lineman to compliment the younger offensive lineman (Shell) and protect the young quarterback we will hopefully get.

They're somewhat of a comparable franchise to us as they too have spent a ton of high draft picks on defensive players. They've now recognized that it's time to go offense, offense, offense and rely on their plethora of defensive draft picks along with good pass rushers to hold their defense down.

This has actually been a very entertaining game.

And now a fumble on the kickoff return and the Niners recover! Down 8 with 5:00 to go.

One of the most entertaining Thursday night games I can remember.

Definitely. Kyle Shanahan has put a competitive offense together despite the lackluster talent. Both offense are extremely creative using tons of misdirection type of motions to create open space.

Well, that missed extra point of Gould is certainly important now. Niners for two to try to tie it at 41.

Wow let's go 9ers. Get this conversion. Even though I have Rams defense in fantasy.

We need the 9ers to win some ball games and keep them away from Rosen and/or Darnold.

Terrrible use of timeouts here Jesus.

And they don't come close to scoring. Too bad.

Collinsworth said it best. Could be one of the wildest games of the year.

Why isn't that catch interference on the onside kick? I'm guessing its because he banged the ball off the ground first to get it to pop in the air like that, right?
