Careful what you wished for. Wishing for 0-16 season so we can have 1st pick or just wishing bad things for the organization? Regardless we win 0, 2,6, or 8 games the key here making and drafting good solid and deep picks and making key FA acquisitions. We haven't been able to do that for what ever how many years? ..Yes we need a QB but it doesn't have to be a #1 pick...Build the Front line, haven't we learned from DBrick and Mangold? Team need to start fresh with Ol, DL, LBs and QB...
FA acquisitions need to be smart. I would sign one key player for both offense and defense along with the usual fodder, special teams, backup LBs, etc. The two key players should be no older than 26 .......I'm not sure what FAs would be available though. In a dream world a solid CB and maybe a LT ? That would leave the draft to get your franchise QB, a center, a couple of running backs, maybe even an edge rusher.......I wish right ?
It appears that the defense is just 11 guys in the same unis on the same side of the field. I'm just not seeing much in the form of cohesiveness. The Offense seems to be far ahead of the defense with a patchwork of JAGS. There has to be some accountability by Blowes and his pal Racy Kodgers.
DL? I don't think so. They better not even thing about adding another DL. There's nothing wrong with our DL that getting rid of Bowles and Rodgers couldn't fix.
I don't know if we are worse than the Browns, Bears, Giants, etc. I do know that each of those teams plus more are terrible and so are the Jets. Could be 5 or more teams with 3 wins or less.
on the plus side it's doubtful the browns or bears draft a QB. you also left out the niners and jags.
it doesnt matter if they have a QB already or not. Darnold is going 1st overall no matter who is in that spot. If its our Jets he's ours. If its someone else and they like their QB they will trade it ...and I don't want to have to be the team that trades the farm to move up
They play Saints, Bengals, 49ers, Browns, and Vikings twice with maybe Case Keenum at QB. They might win a few.

The most important game of the year is going to be the last game. That's when the healing process begins.
To a team like the Bills who have 2 picks in the 1st Rd as well as 2 in the 2nd and 3rd rounds as well.
thats gonna suck big time when we win some meaningless game in week 16 or 17 and buffalo trades one spot ahead of us to nab Darnold. we end up with "best player available" again
We need to find out exactly what the tie breakers will be that determine the #1 overall pick. There's gonna be a few 2-14 teams in the running. There may even be several 1-15 teams vying for the top spot. If we're gonna win 2 games, we better be damn sure they're not divisional games or even conference games for that matter as I have a feeling those will be used as criteria.
I'm certain that the bolded will definitely be used as criteria in deciding. The problem with your bolded sentence is that it ignores the Bears and Niners, and they may be our two biggest challengers for the top spot. Since they're in the NFC, if we beat a team or two from the NFC and the Bears and/or Niners lose to those teams, then they will win the tiebreaker. We really need to go 0-16. With the way things go for the Jets, 1-15 or 2-14 would have us picking in the 3-5 range.
Can you imagine the embarrassment the NFL will feel if there are several 0-16 teams? I'm pretty sure the league doesn't condone tanking and a season with this result will scream exactly that.
If it wouldn't prevent the Jets from getting the #1 pick (which it inevitably would), I'd love it if it happened. It would be a nice slap in the NFL's (Goodell's) and the owners' faces.
