I willl say that the offense has actually performed better than the defense these past 2 weeks. Considering that Morton is working with McCown, Forte, and Kearse as his big 3 its pretty impressive.

Bowles has had three years to improve this defense and it hasn't happened

Can we just promote him to HC and see how he does for the rest of the season? Curious to see if our defense even drops off if at all.

I'd like to give Morton a chance because he technically wouldn't be a rookie HC when we take the interim tag off in 2018. I'm done with the statue that currently have on the sidelines. There is no way that he is all piss and vinegar in private. He is probably just slightly more animated in the locker room.

I said this before the season began. Our next HC just might already be on the roster as long as his name ISN'T Kacy Rodgers.

It would be nice for once to see an offensive minded HC for a change and if they don't want to pay Gruden then find somebody else.

Morton's offense is pretty decent, would like to see less screen throws however, but I would be intrigued with him as the HC. Keep the system intact, but I wonder what type of defense he would field.

He would make a good HC compared to what we have now. Long past time to dump Bowles. and Mcc too.

I think he is using a lot of screens to hide the pass pro problems and to get the ball in to forte's hands.
Considering the other options, can't really blame him

I don't think Morton would call this many screens if he had an offensive roster worth a damn.

It was nice to actually see a few plays where Forte was targeted down field. Had a few nice plays.

I'm actually pretty satisfied with Morton so far. Quite early, but he seems like a good hire.

If Jets fans don't hate their OC, you know he must be good

There weren't many options, perhaps he could've gotten Stewart in the game more as he's very good after the catch. I personally thought the timing of some of them were off.

Granted it's a damn low bar, but I would say the offense has been better than expected. McCown has been serviceable. We're getting okay production from the TEs and even Kearse. Most surprisingly, the OL has been better than expected, especially in pass protection. Again, low expectations, but poor talent too. They gave away/lost their top three receivers and are rolling the dice with a less experienced, journeyman center over their decade-long centerpiece of the OL. Well done.

Now Kacy Rodgers and defense on the other hand... More talent everywhere and a fraction of the production...

Well, Stewart and both Hansen hardly played. Young guys that need to prove themselves. We have no idea what we have in those receivers. What value do Peake and Kerley bring to the table? Playing 44 snaps? Stewart runs after the catch probably better then anyone else on the roster, those screens at times were far too predictable.

I agree...he is doing what he can with that awful talent.

The defense though has been ass...all on Bowles

If you remember at all, Morton brought in two extra linemen at one point. If he had confidence in pass pro or run blocking from this OL, I don't think he would have done that.

P.S. If Morton could do [this much] with this salvage dump roster, Bowles should be able to do a lot more with 1st-rounder studded roster of defense.

Maybe Lee is horrible. Maybe Mo Wilk is a trash. Maybe Leo is a garbage.

Or maybe. JUST MAYBE. The schemes they play under is an utter garbage. Yes. I am saying just that. Bowles is an utter trash, and he is so fucking bad that he makes OTHERS look much worse than they are. [That includes: entire defensive roster, and maybe Mac.]

Yes, I remember and the calls were far too predictable. He could've had max protection and still called plays other then a screen-pass. It was predictable and it wasn't working.

If he could conjure chicken salad out of chicken shit, he'd be winning SB as a HC somewhere already.

Would definitely liked to have seen some young guys more involved. Not sure why we dumped a bunch of vets just to feature mccown and forte as the offense.
