I remember Little John Flowers as the Jets' best NFL Europe designated player for at least a year or two. I wonder if there are any stats out there for that? I wonder if anyone would look them up if there were?

    Joe,

Thanks for the pictures. As a heads up, that should be Ray "Mickens" not Ray "Minkens."

Since I'm your favorite or one of your favorite posters to have discussions with, I decided that I'd look it up for you. LOL

    http://www.footballdb.com/teams/nfle/berlin-thunder/stats/2005

With Berlin in 2005, Little John Flowers rushed 109 times for 433 yards and a 3.97 ypc average. His longest run was a 57-yard TD. He scored 7 TDs rushing. He had 18 receptions for 117 yards and no TDs. His longest reception was 28 yards.

With Berlin in 2006, he rushed 75 times for 283 yards and a 3.77 ypc average. His longest run was 20 yards and he only scored 2 TDs. He had 10 receptions for 112 yards and a 11.2 ypc. average. His longest reception was 38 yards and he only scored 1 TD. Oh, and he had one passing attempt, but it was incomplete. His career passer rating is 39.6.

It looks like 2005 was a career season for him. ;)

That tells me the Jets' other designated NFL Europe players must have been just stellar....

I tried to find a list of Jets who played in NFL Europe, but was unable to. I found one NY Times article from February 2001 of 7 players the Jets sent to Europe. They were tackle Mark Bristol, TE Steve Bromiski, LB Kelvin Moses, WR Shannon Myers, LB Brent Naccara, C/OG Dennis O'Sullivan, and LB Dax Strohmeyer. Hardly the stuff of legends.

I know that Brandon Moore played in NFL Europe. I think he was the best player the Jets sent.

    http://www.footballdb.com/nfl-europe/nfleplayers.html

This site supposedly has every player who played in NFL Europe, but it lists their college team, not which NFL team sent them. It also includes the World League of American Football.

Jamie Henderson 2001-2004. Safety. His career was cut short because of a motorcycle accident

I remember that very well. He was critically injured with serious head trauma, and Woody the Cheapskate did something right for once in his life and kept paying him for quite some time. He eventually made a complete recovery, which wasn't expected at all. He just could never play again, because of high risk of re-injuring his brain box. I think he did some college positional coaching as well as coaching some HS ball after that.

Say what you will about the Jets, but we had some great football names.
