Isn't it hilarious that this idiot wants to stifle our own press but wants to give away our allies secrets?

Please tell me someone else listened to Trump's NATO speech, which was about NATO members paying more to the US!

    Man, this guy's got balls.

I didn't listen to it but I know that France, Turkey, Germany, Italy and Canada don't meet the 2% of GDP defense spending that NATO Members are expected to. The U.S., Greece, Estonia, U.K. and Poland meet the 2% mark, why shouldn't someone call out the other countries that aren't hitting the mark?

Did he say they owe it to the U.S. or that they need to pay their share? They don't actually owe it since the 2% is not a requirement, just expected, but if you want in NATO then pay what's expected.

While they are at it, they need to address the ridiculous amount the U.S. pays into the U.N.. 22% of the entire budget is ridiculous, that's more than China, Russia, Germany and France combined.

he said it is not fair to the people of the united states and "many of these nations owe massive amounts of money from past years, and not paying in those past years”

called the 2% a "financial obligation"..

I don't see that as an untrue statement, it's our taxes that pay for defense spending to meet the 2% minimum.

It might not be untrue but why would NATO members give two shits about what the U.S. does with its taxpayer's money and american taxpayers in general??? What he is saying to them isn't effective, true or not, consider your audience and adjust your talking points effectively.

The question is who needs the UN and what size are the economies?

Russia would tell you to just get rid of the UN. It doesn't serve them at all. China might well want to have it around as an emerging superpower. It's really valuable to the top dogs because it keeps the world more predictable. The UK, Germany and France would all vote to keep it and probably should pay in proportion to their economy size.

The US currently has 24.9% of the world's nominal GDP. In that light paying 22% of the UN's budget seems not unreasonable. France has 3.1% of the nominal GDP. What percentage of the UN budget are they paying? 6.1%. Sounds like they are doing their part.

The U.N. is a bloated, inefficient bureaucracy that needs to be completely revamped if it has any intent of continuing operations for many more years. The salary and extras the diplomats get, in addition to a ridiculous pensions, even put congressional salary and perks to shame.

The question is, does the U.S. gain from U.N. projects outweigh paying almost 1/4 of the entire budget, I don't think it even comes close. I really don't see where it makes anything predictable unless you mean predictably slow in taking action on anything.

"Carrier, the company President Barnum pledged to keep on American soil, informed the State of Indiana this week that it will soon begin cutting 632 workers from an Indianapolis factory. The manufacturing jobs will move to Monterrey, Mexico, where the minimum wage is $3.90."

    But Pwesident Barnum, YOU PWOMISED!!!

Montana congressional candidate Greg Gianforte assaulted a reporter for asking him a question about Trumpcare. He should drop out of the race, but he won't because Republicans will still vote for him. Which is pathetic but that's the way it is because they care more about hurting liberals than helping themselves.

As opposed to liberals who are more concerned with hurting everyone as long as it makes them seem smarter for thinking contrarily, I mean progressively?

Liberals haven't voted for a candidate who bodyslammed a reporter the day before the election.

Fuck that guy in Montana. You get hot under the collar and let things get physical with another man-- it happens. I actually am not going to kill him for that part.

But when that happens you apologize like a man you don't issue his little bitch statement. Fuck that guy
