hey guys newbie here, Didn't see this posted anywhere, but thought it's pretty significant news considering this was the first year our new dept. was really in place. Rex was in charge of our scouting department, same spot Mac had with Texans before he came here. I suppose this is a good sign, that teams would look to us to fill top vacancies?
http://www.indystar.com/story/sport...ng-familiar-faces-his-front-office/318104001/ hard to read the story for all the popping up ads. but anyhow, here it is.
I know it's probably just me but just thought it strange, "frontofficefanatic" starts his 1st thread about a scout. Show of hands, who here knew who Rex Hogan was? I don't see many hands. Guess I just never knew there were front office fanatics. I guess we should expect daily updates on what Jacqueline Davidson is doing.
I don't mind being that guy on occasion haha. My best friend works at FSU in a front office role, pretty interesting stuff if you ask me! I figured this is a pretty significant loss, as Hogan was instrumental in delegating the rest of the scouting department in his role. If Woody is serious about building this right, positions like this couldn't be more important. We are depending on this scouting department to identify rookie talent under every rock.
Great. You think it's a terrible thread. Who cares? I have never understood this type of attitude. It may not be front page news, but it's news during one of the slowest parts of the offseason. Also...really? Worst thread ever? Give me a break.
Welcome to TGG.com I don't know if this is noteworthy news, but it is encouraging that another team saw something in one of our scouts.
I think it's a pretty big loss. It was his job to send scouts to see players on various teams. They reported back to him and he filtered out the best possible prospects. Now he takes that information to the Colts. Our loss. i have no idea who will replace him, but whoever it is better have people skills. We are trying to rebuild the team and the scouting is critical. It seems like Acad23 just posts for the numbers
I doubt that we'll see the thread starter around here again but if we do their name should be changed to "RexHogan'sMom."
TBH I do remember him coming here highly regarded when Mac took over. Not going to flip over it but I do think he's pretty respected in league circles.
No it isn't, not by a long shot. It isn't even close. Losing Hogan could be a significant loss. I saw the article the other day, but didn't feel like starting a thread about it.
I saw the article the other day about this and wondered if it could hurt the scouting dept. How much it could hurt could depend upon whether Hogan was Mac's first choice for the job, or simply the best who was available at the time. Hogan is supposedly a friend of the new GM of the Colts and they will be co-VPs of personnel. Please excuse some of the rude, unwelcoming comments. We do have our cynical, jaded posters.
