    Yup. I think you're right.
The experts here that know that Hack is shit know you're wrong tho. It's not even up for consideration. They also know what every teams board looked like. After all how could they not not. They read Lance Zierlein's scouting report from the previous December before the draft and it was obvious Mac missed those CBS.com and ESPN scouting reports.

I know and that pisses me off hugely, if only we had a K'OB at QB now

the mark of a successful franchise is drafting a QB in the 7th round.

    Got it.

The jury is still out, way out, on Mac's draft abilities. There isn't that much difference between the Jets qb drafts and the Pats since BB got there in 2000. The Jets have picked qb's in the 1st or 2nd round 5 times since then, while the Pats only picked as high as 2 only once, but part of that is because they are low in the draft order because they do well every season. Other than Brady in R6, they got Cassel and their current 2 unproven guys, we got Chad and a bunch of mediocre guys. It's always a total crap shoot. That said, I have no idea why they took Hack in the 2nd round, hopefully Mac learned his lesson.

Even though I disagree with a number of Macc's decisions, it's too soon to say he's "mismanaged" the team, although that possibility remains. If Hack doesn't show some proof of why he was taken with their 2nd pick, and the draft choices he's made don't show much more than they have so far, I think then "mismanaged" could be used.

We can say that he seems to have a plan, even if so far it's unclear what it is. It does appear that he wants to have a team of high character, high achiever types, counting on those attributes to pay off more than highly talented, but more questionable players who either have health or off-field questions, and I can't argue with that approach. Still, to win a championship sometimes you have to have a guy or two who you dislike as a person, but whose talent is exceptional. Would Macc have drafted Namath? I bet he wouldn't have.

I do question his decision to not fire Bowles, but is he to blame, or was that Woody?

I remain skeptical, but also hope for the best, in other words, I'm a Jets fan.

if the Jets had ever had a QB with the talent of Elway on their roster then you can be pretty sure that they would have won more than 1 SB.

FYI: brady was a 6th round pick. unitas was playing sandlot ball in pittsburgh.

len dawson was cut by the browns. romo was undrafted free agent.

however, ryan leaft was 1st round #2 pick. there are plenty of first and second round qb busts in history.

and you think spending a 7th round pick on kelly would be dumb? really?

where was the jets brillance for the past 47 years while denver was going to, and winning some super bowls?

as i recall, they won one just a couple of years ago. we haven't even sniffed the playoffs in 7 years!

no, but they gamble with a 7th round pick instead of a 2nd.
they actually use those early picks to get useful items, like a te or an olb that can actually generate a pass rush.

Titans was harry wismer's attempt to compete with the Giants in 1960.
Jets was sonny werblin's acknowledgement that football is " show business" .( in more ways than one)

frankly, i would go with green and gold ( similar to army, baylor, etc.) rather than have my team look like the afc version of the eagles.
some people in upstate ny say that the bills are are ripoff of the giants due to their color choice.

Well. We didn't draft Paxton Lynch. But we also didn't draft a Neanderthal in the first round who brought a new born baby on stage in some sort of ritualistic father/son bonding ritual. So you know, there's that!

Kelly aside, I feel that drafting a QB every year is worth while unless you have your franchise QB already on the roster.
It's plain to see you aren't winning unless you have, at least , a competent signal caller under center

And Cris Carter wasn't even drafted. Marques Colston was a 7th round pick. What's your fucking point?

Winning lottery ticket means just that - WINNING THAT FUCKING LOTTERY TICKET. Should you [expect] to win? If you are [expected] to win, that's not a lottery at all, is it?

Moreover, Jets' problem goes far deeper than just drafting that lottery winning kid. This team just cannot raise the drafted talent if their lives depended on it. [Look at how many ex-Jets thrived AFTER leaving this stinking team.] If you think this coaching staff can make a Hall-of-Fame starting QB out of fringe 7th rounder, you seriously need to get your head checked. [Or pass that thing you are smoking.]

I disagree. I don't see any point in taking a QB just for the sake of taking a QB. The Jets already have 3 QBs under contract, with all 3 of them needing all the reps they can get in the new offense. The last thing they need is a 4th QB taking reps from them.
