Sounds like pre draft talk. No team will ever rule out a pick giving the rest of the league a clear picture of likely draft picks. This is the time of misinformation. Especially for a team looking to trade their picks.

He's the only QB that's slated to be drafted ahead of our pick. if we wanted anyone else it would be a sure thing. so him saying a scenario would mean someone falls. No other QB is slated for the top 10
Nothing new in that statement that hasn't been said by Macc. Open competition for the QB position remains to be seen as I find it hard to believe we'd pay $6mil for a mentor/benchwarmer. Since Petty's non-throwing arm won't be ready by the start of TC, looks like Hack has the stage pretty much to himself. Honestly, I haven't witnessed an "honest" qb competition around the Jets in a verrry long time. Forgive my skepticism.
Hopefully Hack gets a fair chance to show what he can do. We need to know what we have going forward. I agree with Cman60 though. I don't trust Bowles at all.
I just looked at 12 different mock drafts and only 1 had Trubisky going before the Jets pick. 6 had him going to Cleveland at #12, 3 had him going #25, 2 had him at #32 and 1 had him at #10. Could be the fact he only started the 1 year has some teams wary.
He also said his first year was successful, while his second wasn't. Can you imagine Belichick saying a 10-6 year with no playoffs was succesful? Low expectations.
Wasting a #1 or high pick in a poor QB draft (it seems to be the Jets MO) will get get Mac fired sooner rather than later. This has Suckchez written all over it if they do so. In a draft year where as you said Trub isn't expected to go top 10 the Jets should be creating questions with other teams that they could pick him so they can trade down and get picks in a draft where it will be very difficult to move down. If its all a ruse my opinion of Mac improves (I will never forgive him for taking a project QB in round 2 when he could have got the same guy in round 4 and an impact player in round 2) but he needs to step it up big time. His "scouting team" has been in place for a while now, its time to produce in this draft.
What I don't get with guys like Mac or TB, is this, they have been around football all of their lives, what have they been doing with all that time? Have they not been watching what works or doesn't work with other teams? How can their philosophies be so bad?
Bowles is as far away in comparison to BB as NYC to Delhi BB/Kraft would have fired him a long time ago but you see the stupidity starts with WJ the owner If we tank in 2017 TB should be gone imo
I certainly don't want a 1st round QB unless they were able to drop way back in the 1st and then I'm still not sure I would want a QB. The trade down to acquire more picks is what I have wanted all along.
