Mark is officially a journeyman.... good for him.

Maybe he can turn into next generations McCown.

Makes me wonder how squirrelly and lake weather are going to mix?

I'm guessing pantyhose might be in the offing.

Well, IMO, it should mean they won't be going QB early in this years draft. Lets see how the rest of the playing field looks like.

    Cleveland:

Cody Kessler - Played in a close variation of a Pro-Style offense at USC. Drafted in the 3rd round, 93rd overall. Cleveland has something in Kessler and he showed plenty of flashes in 16'. They haven't signed a QB in free agency .. yet. Though they own the rights to Osweilers contract. Given that they have crazy cap money and a multitude of picks, including two in the 1st round .. they could keep him. I can see them going QB in the later rounds and fortefying their roster with more talent at the skill positions in the earlier rounds:

    Passing:
    G----Comp----Att----%-------Yds----TD----Int
    9-----128-------195---65.6---1380---6------2

    Rushing:
    Rush----Yds----Y/G----Avg----TD
    11--------18------2.0-----1.6------0

Kevin Hogan - Played out of a Pro-Style offense at Stanford. Drafted in the 5th round 162nd overall. He saw some game action but doesn't seem to anything more than a backup at this point in his career:

    Passing:
    G----Comp----Att----%------Yds----TD----Int
    4-----14--------26-----53.8---104----0------2

    Rushing:
    Rush----Yds----Y/G----Avg----TD
    8 ---------105----26.3---13.1----1

    San Francisco:

    Matt Barkley
    - showed he can at least be a decent backup. Drafted in the 5th round of the 2013 draft, 98th overall.

    Passing:
    G----Comp----Att------%------Yds----TD----Int
    7-----129-------216----59.7---1611----8-----14

    Rushing:
    Rush----Yds----Y/G----Avg----TD
    7----------2-------0.3-----0.3-----1

Brian Hoyer - showed he still can start and will turn 32 toeards the middle of the 17' season, can at least be a short term/bridge answer at QB. It is quite possible he will be the day 1 starter and given his quality it could mean Frisco may select one of the falling QBs in rounds 2-4. Not too many experts are sold on the quality of this year's group.

    Passing:
    G----Comp----Att------%------Yds----TD----Int 6-----134------200-----67.0---1445---6------0

    Rushing:
    Rush----Yds----Y/G----Avg----TD
    7--------- -2------ -.3---- -.3------0

I don't know about you all but considering how teams with high 1st round picks signed QBs via free agency, you can't help but think the QB's just may fall in the draft, either giving us a choice of the QB liter or reason to trade down if players high in our board have been selected. It's going to be an interesting draft.

86 touchdowns and 86 interceptions in his career.

    The epitome of average.

    Nice work Sancho.

    You fooled them again Mark.

The Bears now have Glennon and Sanchez at QB. The Jets have McCown, Hackenberg and Petty. Including money, I think I would rather have the Jets current situation. Hopefully Glennon and Hackenberg work out for each team, but both far from a given.

How is it any different than what the jets have been doing with their signings?

This forum criticizes the Bears for the signing of an average veteran QB, but then the same forum has a 39 page thread on how great the Mccown signing is?

    Seriously?

If Glennon turns out to be good, then agreed. If not, they won't have much flexibility.
I know I am a rare Sanchez fan, but he is an upper tier Back-Up QB if you asked me. He is fully capable of stepping in and winning some games for you. Can't say that for many QB's on the bench in the NFL. His starting career did not go as planned, but he is more than serviceable.

You won't find me saying anything positive about the McCown signing.

    Hell...I'd rather have Sanchez back.

Now that would be fun...and Sancho is a bunch cheaper too.

You guys are all idiots. We haven't had a decent thread on the Jets wire in over 3 months. Someone creates an thread with A LOT of Jet fan interest about our former QB and all you guys can think of is being thread Nazis.
