Rumor has it that Dallas is going to release him if they dont get any bites on the trade market. Would you like it if McCagnan offered a 5th or 6th to bring him here? He would be the best QB this franchise has had since Favre and it's possible that he's finally healthy.
First you ask if you would be upset and then in the thread you ask if you would like it? No, I would not like it one bit. Total bonehead move.
Yes I am sure the Jets youth movement game plan includes cutting all of their vets and then trading for a 37 year old injury plagued QB who costs $24 million a year. Actually, now that I think about it, that does sound like something the Jets would do!
No, I wouldn't. It would be a totally dumbass move. To begin with, Romo isn't coming here. He's gonna go to a team that is a playoff contender. Even if he was willing to sign here, he can't stay healthy behind Dallas' OL. He wouldn't last five minutes behind our OL. Bringing in a vet QB like Romo is a move they would make if they were a playoff contender. They're not. The Jets are going with youth and rebuilding. There is absolutely no valid reason for signing Romo. All he would do is help the Jets win another game or two, just enough to screw up their chances to get a FQB or their new LT in the next year's draft.
Would be instant SB contenders and I'd instantly be on the phone with sales buying season tickets. It would be nice to see Romo finally behind a great OL, maybe he'll now be able to stay healthy. Also Romo with a great running game and a top notch WR core headed by Robbie Anderson would be fun. Romo deserves to play with weapons for once in his career. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'd be beyond furious if they traded or signed Romo. It's all about building for the future right now & Romo means nothing to the Jets future.
I agree with what everyone has said thus far. It would be a huge mistake to trade for Romo. All it does is delay the inevitable task of finding a long term answer at QB.
I'd be very mad. They cut all these old vets to bring in another old vet like Romo? I'm sure he's still got a good year or 2 left, but why risk that when it could set the team back even further. The Jets need to find the QB of the future, not another stop gap.
Talent-strapped team to sacrifice draft picks in a trade for an over-the-hill, chronically injured QB? gOoD jOb Tony Romo's spine
Yeah, let's trade for the guy whose career of gaffes makes the butt fumble seem not so bad, after all? Especially after he lost his job to a rookie.
