Good to see Skrine receive starter snaps. Marcus Williams is stuck here, 6 plays just won't cut it. Dion Bailey played a lot with Pryor out, I thought he did a great job at the end, had a nice pass breakup. What's the deal with JJ anyway? Where was he? Henderson picked up the snaps Harris left on the field after injuring his knee. Mauldin got some snaps which was nice to see, had some nice rushes. Coples with only 15 snaps, disappointing. Wouldn't mind trading him at this point. TJ Barnes is in a similar situation as Marcus Williams. The guy keeps making plays but he can't get on the field. Would be a productive starter for most other teams I'd think. Had a sack yesterday that was wiped away, had another deflection and another QB hit, all that on 5 snaps. Bowen is a waste, he'll probably get cut today anyway with Sheldon returning. Can't wait to see how Bowles rotates those guys in week 6. We have 2 weeks now to come up with some creative sh*t. Lol opened this thread and thought it was going to be a discussion about Fitz trying to draw the Fins offsides with the long snap count. _
Saxton I thought had a good block once, I think that was him. Kellen Davis is basically another fullback. Except he can't run block. Or pass block. Or run. Or catch.
Kerley deserves more snaps, Smith looks lost out there, give Smith more practice reps to gain some confidence
I got these notifications last year for every game, and this year I for some reason don't get them. Do you know where to get that?
We need to start making signs or chanting for this guy Marcus Williams he deserves way more playing time. Cro is hurting my eyes to watch his trash ass cash in and play like this
I'm not entirely sure what Kellen Davis you watch but he's excellent on seal blocks on misdirection. He's not the greatest drive blocking in the world but I'd say he's middle of the road in the NFL for sure.
When I say he can't block that doesn't mean he's terrible at it, he just can't block - WELL. He can't catch WELL either. That doesn't mean he's gonna drop every ball thrown his way. And there's more to blocking than that unless you want to run the same play over and over again. He's getting bullied at the point of attack by linemen, he doesn't generate a push. That to me is the most important thing a blocking TE has to be able to do.
With Decker playing (and thriving) in the slot, Kerley is not going to see a lot of snaps. Smith is an outside player, Kerley really isn't.
Right, Kerley just doesn't have the speed. Decker is killing it. Hopefully Owusu, Smith, and Enunwa get better on the outside, and one of them establishes himself. I think it's just a matter of time before Smith starts showing flashes. Too bad he missed all that time....The formula is great if one of those three can advance
maybe put decker back outside and move kerley into the slot where he can put up 600-800 yards a season? Kerley was our top WR for 2 years.
no thanks. Decker has been practically uncoverable in the slot and he scores TDs. Im not gonna move Decker outside, making him less effective just to add a Kerley back. Decker stays in slot, Smith gets better on outside and we're good. Thanks for the memories Jeremy
Few tightends outside of Ben Watson, Ben Hartsock and Virgil Green generate the push you're looking for. Good blocking tightends seal ends, get up to linebackers and play the shield game in just getting hands and body enough on the guy just enough to get the runningback past him. It's a lot more about positioning than it is drive. You really make me question your posts sometimes these days.
