Yeah - it's way too early. I know. [Laughter]

That said, first-pick didn't make up anything yet, and fanspeak is the only draft sim site as of now.

    http://fanspeak.com/ontheclock/

    Caveat:

    1. They still have Jets drafting at #6
    2. They don't allow trades.

That said - this is my first attempt. Enjoy!

Jaylon Smith a 3rd rounder? No way. I think he'll be an easy first! But I'll take that value.

I'm like you, draft talk 365 days a year. What else is this board for?

I only did three rounds, took:

    Christian Hackenberg (QB, Penn St)
    Jack Conklin (OT, Mich St)
    James Conner (RB, Pitt)

If Devonte Fields' head is screwed on straight he'll be a first rounder. 2nd at the latest.

Eh First-pick has theirs up and running now.
Was doing a test drive to see how the players were rated and decided to just get whacky on the first run so I could draft a few players to see how they grade where and this is the mess I came up with. One HELL of a draft, but I also spent both future first round picks (but got great returns on the trades, 2nd, 3rd and 4th for each of them. That said...this is silly but thought I'd put it up just because it really is a sick draft. They need to adjust their player ratings, Hackenberg still available in the 5th?

Yeah I know, the game really doesn't like Hackenberg at all. They need to do some tweaking, and they will over time judging from past experience. I've played probably 200 games of it now (laid up with a broken ankle so not much to do). Debating whether or no to post the most silly of them, wound up with 16 picks but it was one of those drafts where just EVERYTHING fell in to place an it was damn near perfect. I actually wish I'd played it straight up rather than doing all the early trades I did because I'm sure I would have been top 10 in scores off it, but too many trades and I traded away future picks and it killed the score.
You know, for being an unserious 'sim' it's addicting as all hell.

Bear Wilson in the 5th is completely ridiculous... Corey Coleman in the 4th is even more absurd to me.

This is why I don't even bother with these sites. They are SO unrealistic that honestly they're about on par with BuzzFeed clickbait to me. "Look at my amazing draft! I got 10 potential first rounders and two future first round picks with my 7 picks after trading down!" "Oh wow, that looks pretty cool, wonder what players I could get?"

As far as the player selection goes... just curious, where would you play Striker? I know he is an impact OLB in OK's 3-4, but the guy is like 220 pounds. I've wondered what to make of him in the NFL. I almost think he has to be a Lavonte David/Tampa 2 weakside linebacker to have a shot in the league.

At the moment I personally see him as more of a passing down and special teams guy in the NFL at the moment, but that's mostly due to his size. If he were bigger and stronger I'd think he's a solid first round pick but with his size and current strength he's probably a 3rd or 4th rounder.

As far as why I play the draft games, it's not necessarily about 'who' you get as the value you get in how the program rates players. Right now I'm just clowning around on the site to see where cut off points are for players for values (because the program usually doesn't match up well with actual expectations) and since it's a 'game' as opposed to an actual simulator you have guys 'fall unexpectedly' to give you chances at 'extreme' value to boost you score if you're paying attention in the draft. When I'm playing for high score a lot of my drafts are 'meh' on a personal excitement level because I'm looking for value picks as opposed to just impact picks. I also gamble more on picks sliding a few spots to get better value than I would in a straight up sim where I was judged on impact of the draft rather than value scores. It's one of the reason there are so many trades available in the game, it's to provide you with strategy options to potentially boost, or more likely lower, your score.
In the end First-Pick.com really isn't about who you pick but the score you obtain vs the scores of others who play the game.

Right now to crack the top 100 scores you need a score of over 8000, the draft above where I got a lot of real world steals in I only scored 6,556. Part of the reason I scored so low is I did too many trades and I traded away my first round picks without getting what the game determined as 'extreme' value. Say for example that Connor Cook was still available at my pick in round two and instead of drafting him I decided to trade down, Cook (who at this point is almost always gone by the end of the first round) would be an 'extreme' value pick and if I trade down and he's picked between my old pick and my new pick I'd lose, in essence, points for not getting the Extreme value. I might still get an A+ on the player I late selected but that A+ player wouldn't be worth as man points as the A+ Cook. And that's the challenge and addiction of the game, learning who the game values and where the game values them is more important than who impactful the player actually would be for your team. You also get bonus points if you get value at one of the current highlighted positions of need as dictated by the program. It's funny to post some of the low scoring but 'look who I got' drafts, but that's really not the point of the game..it's about high score and if you really want a high score you need to break away from the 'I love this player' mentality and go for who's the best value. Sometimes you can boost that value by gambling the player will fall a little further and some players just never fall much.
Right now I'm not playing for scores, I'm learning how it values this years crop, but that will change over time both in how I play and also how the game rates players so the game is almost always changing.

Though I admit right now I have a tendency to choose who I really really like rather than who's going to get me a high score.

Addendum to above, I do admit though that in real life draft If I have 3 players that I more or less value equally on my board and someone calls and asks me to move down 3 slots I'll probably take that deal if it's a reasonable value in pick compensation simply because I'll get to add another player or two and still get one of the 3 players I have equally ranked based on skills and need.

I did this draft to kind of illustrate my point. This is a much less sexy draft, and I blew a couple of picks because I couldn't trade down and I wasn't sure who was value at that draft point. But despite this being a much less sexy draft and having 'blown' a couple picks my point total is actually higher (largely because I didn't have so many picks and I didn't trade away the future picks. But because I only traded for value (trading down and still getting cook for example) my score is almost 1000 points higher than the above draft, though still 800 points or so from breaking in to the top 20 scores for Jets picks and 900 points from breaking in to the overall top 200 scores.
Personally I dislike the Foster pick but the game has him at value there and it was a need position.

Getting more serious about getting a high score and breaking in to the top 200 scores.
So far this I my best draft, I really though I had a chance of breaking 8000 and I might have if I hadn't done a trade down in the 4th, I was trying to squeeze a little more value and lot the player I wanted in moving down 3 slots.
