Not surprised. Wish him well on his journey. Can't wait until it's Geno's turn though, at which point we can party like it's 1999 while wishing him well also on his journey.

And yet Geno remains. Good move by Matt. I hope he catches on with Cleveland.

Why would you ask to be cut when you're on an NFL team but you're not an NFL caliber player?

At least he asked to be cut unlike Sanchez.

Only logic here is that he felt Heaps was going to beat him out for #4. Heaps is likely headed to the PS so this may be a smart move from Simms.

And almost the first or second but Geno can't win when it counts and can't lose when it counts.

Don't really care one way or another but seriously he never got or was given a chance. Lord knows with the shitty play we had at QB he should have least started one game. There were times last year when I would have taken his grandfather over Geno.

Good-bye and good luck except when you play against us. You have to be really bad to lose out to Geno Smith.

Look I don't think the guy is really that good. But for these guys who say he sucks and applaud Mark and Geno. Come on, man. With those 30 and 60 starts he might have done something. We know they didn't.

the backup QB is always the most popular player amongst fans.
it's all going to transfer to Petty.............until he starts...at which point his backup will be more popular.

A number #2 QB on a team with a bottom 3 QB isn't saying too much about Simms. The coaches see these guys in practice and he wouldnt of been cut loose if they felt he was better then any of the other 3.

It's not a big loss I wasn't impressed in the little playing time he got in the regular season.

Hopefully this means the beginning of the end of the cr@ptacular NYJ QB play era.

Only in NY does a hands down bonafide 3rd stringer getting cut qualify as news. I think he's surpassed Ratiff level of fan stupidity.

Well look who made the call on that. Rex Ryan himself. Bro, the guy never played. In a real game other than mop up duty. Not one start compared to over 60 for Mark. If he started even 1 you could say something although 12 is a fair sample size. Just because he didn't get even one start: doesn't mean he'd of been a disaster. You're saying he was a disaster before the fact.

Ya remember our other savior Brett Ratliff 2009, he was the next coming, then Mangini snatched him in the Sanchez trade, its so great being a Jets fan we are so QB deprived that we are always pulling for the guy down the line
