Arkansas-Texas A&M might be the best game played in Arlington all Fall with how the Cowgirls are playing.

I wouldn't get too excited just yet. He has gone up against the 6th (Fresno State), 7th (Illinois) and 10th (Florida Atlantic) worst defenses against the run, the best he faced in FBS was Miami who is ranked 65th best. Against McNeese who is 17th best of FCS teams against the run he went 17 for 54 a 3.2 yd average.

See how he does against Michigan St. next weekend.

Sundayjack came up with something like that years ago, called it the Turd Bowl, but it was immediately ripped off by that pasty jackass Florio from PFT, except he called it the Turd Watch.

If there was going to be a Saturday to have lousy/stay indoors weather locally then this is it (if you follow college football). Today's lineup features some interesting matchups involving highly-ranked teams and making them even more interesting is the fact that the underdogs are the home team in most of them.

3 Alabama vs. #11 Ole Miss (at Oxford, Ms.)

Lane Kiffen's 'Bama offense vs. Huge Freezeā€™s defense up front looks to be the big question. However, I think 'Bama wins on the other side of the ball by forcing turnovers from Bo Wallace, Ole Miss' interception-prone QB. Wallace has already thrown six picks this year. Alabama is going to look to rattle him and they will: Alabama 24, Ole Miss 13.

    Player to watch:
    Amari Cooper, Alabama WR.
    C.J.Johnson, Ole Miss DE

#6 Texas A&M vs. #12 Mississippi State (at "StarkVegas," Ms.)

This game could be the most fun to watch if State doesn't get caught up in the moment and play too tight at home in Davis-Wade Stadium, home of "more cowbell!" The jury's still out on A&M's defense while Mississippi State's never been known for their offense. That said, MSU does have a duel pass/run threat in QB Dak Prescott who has a little Brad Smith in him. On the other hand, A&M's QB Kenny Hill has picked up right where Johnny Manzell left off so the A&M offense vs. State defense side of the ball will probably decide this game. MSU has a great front 7 however they're susceptible to the big play over the top. Can MSU keep up with A&M point-wise? My guess, close but no cigar. A&M pulls away in the end, Texas A&M 34, Mississippi State 24.

    Players to watch:
    Kenny Hill, Texas A&M QB
    Preston Smith, Miss. St. DL
    Benardrick McKinney, Miss. St. LB
    Dak Prescott, Miss. St. QB.

#4 Oklahoma vs. #25 TCU (at Fort Worth, Tx.)

TCU usually known for their defense has some offense this year. If there's going to be an upset, this game looks to be the one. Frogs 27-24.

    Player to watch:
    Trevone Boykin, TCU QB

#9 Notre Dame vs. #14 Stanford (at South Bend, Ind.)

On paper, Stanford is overall the better team, again, on paper (ND's a 1-point home dog). ND could prevail should Gholston have a good game and keep the turnovers to a minimum. Stanford QB Hogan is not on the same level as Gholston play making ability-wise. While Notre Dame hasn't really played anybody, Stanford has looked lousy in their own right, losing to USC and looking sloppy and flat up in Washington. This one is impossible to call, but what the hell, Stanford 21, ND 20.

    Players to watch:
    Everett Gholston, Notre Dame QB
    Will Fuller, Notre Dame WR

#5 Auburn vs. #15 LSU (at Auburn, Al.)

LSU is talented but looking at how their young defensive front got steamrolled at home against Mississippi State, Auburn (playing at home) should do more of the same. Auburn 31, LSU 17.

    Players to watch:
    Nick Marshall, Auburn QB
    Cameron Artis-Payne, Auburn RB

Mississippi State following up their bully beatdown of LSU by beasting A&M. The jury's no longer out on the Aggies defense. They're still soft like last year's edition. Now that Oregon lost on Thursday and if Ole Miss and ND lose, Miss. St. moves well into the Top 10 and Bulldog QB Prescott enters the Heisman conversation.
