Brian Winters on offense because the calls should be easier to understand and the reads should make more sense. Dimitri Patterson will be a ball hawk for us in the secondary. Hill is my make a wish breakout player.
Jets defensive line. They will feast. And when there is a large front, we will get some gratuitous picks. The Jets defense are coming into their own. We're going to see it this season, and it's going to be glorious. Fuck yeah.
I think that Brian Winters will improve. I think Stephen Hill will improve too. Will either have a breakout season? I doubt it. I'm not really sure what a breakout season is. I have evaluated how each starter will improve. There are obvious presumptions. The coding is intuitive. Ferguson = Winters + Mangold =+ Colon = Giacomini + Johnson = Bohanon = + Geno + Hill + Decker = Amaro R Wilkerson =+ Richardson + Harrison + Coples + Davis + Harris = Pace - Milliner + Wilson = Pryor R Landry +
Well said indeed. I believe the secondary will be far more impressive than people think, and the front line will take it to a new level and create havoc game after game. It will be hard to pass against them when you are running for your life particularly since running will not be much of a factor against this bunch. If the offense simply improves by 30% ( should not be hard from last year) this could be a fun, fun season
Well, if we go by TurdBlocker's definition, it's a player improving to "star level", however you quantify that. I think that Mo Wilk did that two years ago, and Richardson did it last year. I don't think it's out of the question to believe that one of the following players could do it: Coples Milliner Amaro Geno (this is more hope than reality for me) Pryor Saunders (STs)
Star players are not star players every year. A few years ago, I considered Brick an elite player. That definition would lead to a player having multiple breakout seasons. The definition would also neglect to include players who go from star to elite (which I thought Wilk did last season).
lol i know.. im getting antsy man this shit needs to hurry up. Just going by the reports though through TC, demario seems ready to live up to my prediction
Gotta be Q for me. Dude looks like a completely different guy this year. He's finally got the body and the mind to be the tornado off the edge we need him to be.
I always get the impression that others seem to think Coples is an LT type edge rusher. The guy is 6'6" / 290lbs. He should be the DE in a 3/4, DT in a 4/3, where he can use his quickness and length to get passed those mushy guards (not trying to beat Tackles). They can list him as an OLB or whatever, but i recall him (hand in dirt) across the C/G on many occasions. Health aside, i expect him to have 8-12 sacks this year. Nothing extreme but he'll help disrupt a lot of plays and put pressure on the QB's.
He WAS 6'6"/290. Now he's like 272 and chiseled out of granite. Not gonna post the whole thing, but Star-Ledger did a great write-up a couple days ago about his offseason program: http://www.nj.com/jets/index.ssf/20...quinton_coples_could_have_a_monster_year.html Dude's going to beast it this season.
If I had to put one name down for a real breakout at this stage then it would have to be Demario. I'm really hoping that someone on Offense steps up as well though. I'm sure Q will improve too, but not that he'll become stellar.
D Davis will be dominant and so will Coples. Offense I go with a wild card SUDFELD, he's having a good camp and he is a big guy with wheels.
LMAO I keep misspelling his name. Sudfeld. Anyway, I liked Coples before camp because i was disappointed by Davis's season last year, and felt the season was underwhelming for Coples last year because of the switch and injuries - not really his fault. But the news out of camp so far is upgrading Davis's prospects, imo. Meanwhile, since i don't expect a big leap for Winters, while hopefully he does make adequate improvement, I agree Sudfeld looks like he could be most improved on O. I'm also expecting a great year for Ivory, who along wiht Mangold has become my favorite player on O. All the talk about Johnson, which is great, I bet will push Ivory even more. Expect a great year for him.
