Yankees currently carrying only 12 position players which is pretty ludicrous to begin with. But Teixeira is injured and they don't want to use Jeter because it's his day off so they have one bench player today.

Also, they're carrying two catchers, but McCann has been playing first (while Teixeira has been injured). So they have no catcher on the bench. If Cervelli got injured, I guess McCann would have to move to catcher.

Will the additions of Prado and Drew be enough to get the Yankees one of the Wild Card spots or AL East title? Don't think so.

If either one of them can concoct some quick healing medicine that can help our pitchers, maybe

Yankees take 3 of 4 from the Tigers, including giving their 3 Cy Young winners an 0-2 record with a no decision. Can't give up on them yet!

Watched every inning of this series and have to tell you...while Cashman and his handling of the farm system is the worst in baseball...I would love to know how he picks up guys with ERAS over 5 and they come here...I mean...every person he picks up does great things.

We know Cashman....nobody will ever get him confused with a guy that can spot talent from 2 inches away....but how the hell does he make these moves? What kind of insight does this guy have to get guys to do what they do when they get here.

Nobody can truly say they have the answer to those questions. He sees a guy that is 3-10 and notices his last few starts were much better and goes for them? No....never will buy that. Every guy that will lose 15 games this season has at least one run where he performs well for 2 or 3 starts in a row.

What the hell? I dont get it.

anyway....this "there is something about this team" stuff...I never buy in to that crap...but...BUT...there is something really weird going on with this team... a team with a payroll over 200 million and a batting order that couldnt score 6 runs against a minor league team.

Something very strange is going on...and they are a McCaan and Beltran getting decently hot.... away from making a run at first place.

This is what we were talking about earlier this year. Cashman seems to be hitting on these role player, fill in type players but missing on the big names. It's weird

You don't have to be Bill James to look at the advanced statistics and see McCarthy was due for a turn around. Add to that Arizona told him not to throw his cutter.
