    I don't want Roman

He's more coordinator than HC to me

While Rex has faults he's a leader of men

I'm all in on Roman if he brings Crabtree with him.

    Jets, Jets

Third and three at the fifty. What to call run or pass. OC needs to know if they are going on 4th down before he sends in the play. Where is Rex? He is talking to the defensive guys. That to me is the problem.

Those first two sentences? I wrote the same stuff about Ryan this time 5 years ago.

As for your last sentence, Ryan admitted he lost the locker room after the 2011 season.

Yeah he did but he regrouped

I just don't see Roman as an upgrade, not to mention Geno would be effected

If we pick an offensive minded HC, I want a new QB as well

Ryan does not have a good track record of working with QBs. Smith shouldn't be hurt at all if Ryan leaves. He will also have an additional four months of learning this offseason.

He's gonna be learning another offense in his 2nd year, that's just not smart with a developmental QB at all

Might as well bring in a new QB if you go with a new HC especially one with an offensive background

If we start new, I wanna do it right

Two interesting points made by LoPresti this AM on FAN

    1) Since the Gayzer report there hasn't been a single trickle of news or updates from anyone on the Jets or even from Womanish's "unnamed or league sources".

    2) He said his talks, tweets, emails in a situation like this usually run about 50-50 but in this case they are running 90 percent and higher in support of Rex being extended and he thinks that that will be the decision Idzik will make. His reasoning is that Rex and the team's performance far exceeded preseason predictions in what everyone knew was a rebuild season with a rookie QB and that this performance deserved to be rewarded with an extension

Hopefully he is correct and we get to keep Rex for more years

    1) A period of mourning for the media now that there will not be low hanging fruit for stories that Rex provided so well.

    2) Wishful thinking, Rex and his circus are gone.

there is no reason to fire rex unless you know for sure you can bring in a cohwer or gruden.

otherwise, Rex worked miracles with this team. they have 7 wins, and might get to .500 with a win tomorrow. 8-8 is unreal considering talent wise this was a 4-6 win team with a rookie QB who was a turnover machine and couldnt handle playing on the road in the NFL. not to mention a team that just traded by far its best player before the season and had tons of injuries.

personally, i wanted rex gone. i hated how he didnt put an emphasis on protecting the football and made the offense an afterthought. i think he is more suited as a DC.

that said, dont see how you can fire the guy with the job he has done this season. had geno had 1 good road performance we'd be poised for the post season right now. plus, who are you bringing in?

i dont understand what getting an offensive minded head coach is going to change. to fix our offense we need talent and a QB. marty did a great job with what he had, and will in the future.

what if we dont finish with a losing record?

if rex goes, its kind of his own fault in a way. he put his job on the shoulders of mark sanchez when he refused to bench him last season. the one time he did in game mcelroy stopped the bleeding. had sanchez been benched early we might have gone 8-8 last year

Well when Rex fails on his face and Idzik leaves, no GM will ever come here to run the Jets since The GM has no power at all.
