    Pats fined $250K

    Belly fined $500K (personally liable for)

    If Pats make playoffs, they forfiet their 2008 first round pick.

    Its official (Pats punishment)!!

    NFL fined Patriots coach Bill Belichick $500,000, the maximum amount according to league policy, for the use of equipment to videotape the Jets' defensive calls in Week 1. The Patriots will also lose a first-round pick in 2008 and be forced to pay $250,000 if they make the playoffs.

    should have been a suspension in there,and the draft pick loss should be playoffs or not.

    agreed... plus why do they lose the pick only if they miss the playoffs? they should lose one automatically and a second if they make the playoffs

    i think they lose it only if they make the playoffs. still,should be lost either way

    doesn' sound like enough punishment to me... besides, i thought the patriaCHEATS, would have opportunity to present their case on friday... tommorrow...

    Fair ruling. Goodell has left no doubt whether they cheated and who led the charade. Maybe Kraft can now eat a little humble pie, as well.

    The Belichick and team fine are a load of crap. Belichick is probably paying out more then that a month to his various women throughout the country. Goodell really fucked the dog on this one, would've liked to see a suspension rather then some horseshit fine.

    not stiff enough to be honest. I was expecting a bit more. Suspension of Belishits for 4 games would have been good.
