Giants listening to offers. Jets desperately need to surround Sam with talent. I would offer this years one and next year's two for him. And btw sign Bell.
First thing I saw when I searched was Patriots making a push to trade for him. That’s pretty damn frustrating. One thing for us not to get him, another for him to end up in NE. I’d put an offer together if I were Mac.
I could never see them trading him to us and on top of that, I don’t really want him considering it would take a first round pick. Would much rather give up a third for Antonio Brown but I don’t even know if that’s realistic either. To me, Beckham is way more of a head case. I think there is something mentally wrong with Beckham à la Brandon Marshall.
To be honest, I would tell them you can have the #3 pick to draft your QB, give us #6 and OBJ to move up to get Haskins. If they say no, that's fine.
That is the only way I do the trade as well. They might have to even move up to number 2 with 49ers to grab Haskins.
Yup, bc if they want to move on from OBJ they can kill 2 birds with one stone. Otherwise we likely say #6, 2019 4 and 2020 1st. Plus they wont be the only team wanting to move up. The Jets are actually the prime spot for a trade up for a QB tbh. If they say no we move on to the next team, the Giants would have very little leverage. I fully expect come draft day we trade down, and I think we're going to get a haul. There are a few teams looking for a QB, and most will think there is just 1 in this draft. It's not like last year when QB was more of a wealth of riches.
I don't necessarily think this is true. AB won't be traded to the Pats because of Pitt's desire to win the AFC. The Giants and Jets while cross town rivals, are in different conferences. Bc as they send us Beckham they can trot around Haskins. It's a win win for both teams. Local media would be set ablaze of Haskins/Saquon vs Darnold/OBJ. It would be mayhem and beneficial to both teams.
That’s way below what we gave up last year to move to 3 It will take the 6,2019 2nd and 2020 first to move to 3. A pick this year is worth a earlier pick in the next draft. That’s pretty much how they price them. That’s why we were able to keep our first this year . If I am Mac and the conversation doesn’t start with this years 2 and next years 1 I hang up.
I am not sure that's below. We gave up the #6 and 3 seconds. Them giving up the #6, a 4th and a 1st is about equivalent. But yeah I mean I think we're just about on the same page.
Giants have "too much pride" to make a trade like that ... Jets and Giants ever making a trade is just so unlikely.
There's a report out there the Patriots tried hard last off-season to get Beckham. I'm assuming if he's available again, the Patriots trade for him now.
I honestly just don't agree to be honest. If they can nab their franchise QB they will do it. The Giants of today are not the Giants of 10 years ago. This is all assuming they actually want to move OBJ (which I think they should). So far reports are teams have been calling and asking. Nobody has confirmed if the conversation was 2 way.
First round picks are 50/50 shots at best. To get a top wide out, in his prime ,for a first round pick seems like simple logic to me.
A top wideout who has played 16 games once in his career, kicks nets, throws helmets, punches walls, cries, fights with his teammates, fights with his coach and runs his mouth publicly about his own team... who also just so happened to sign the biggest deal for a WR.
