I don’t know about you, but I really hope we get an instant, day 1, impact DT. Can’t wait.

In no scenario actually possible would Gary go before Bosa. Instant loss of credibility even publishing this mock

Doesn't Bosa have the most upside of any defensive player in this draft?

Dream scenario right there. If Bosa fell to the Jets, there's almost no chance it would be Gary at 2. It would have to be a QB via trade up OR Q. Williams.

    Daniel Jones over Haskins? Hmmmm.

Suppose his injury hampers him at the combine ?

Also, SIGNING him could be a problem as it was with Joey.

  8. Id say Allen has more Upside.Hes got the frame to pack on alot more mass & definition. He also has superior change of direction & agility which makes him an unbelieveable coverage linebacker.

Bosa is more physical, powerful & explosive coming forward both as a pass rusher & setting the edge. He’ll get stronger, maybe a step quicker but he is what he is.

W Allen the sky is the limit

You know, they said the same thing about Mayfield or Allen going #1 last year.

I'm actually wondering now if I should be HOPING that the teams ahead of us take Bosa and Williams (or another team moves up for a QB).

    Allen is growing on me.

Confused....why do you say that Allen has more "upside" but that "...Bosa is more physical, powerful, and explosive."

Are you saying that Allen will match or exceed Bosa on those metrics in 2-3 years ?

With QB's, you just don't know. There is not Luck or Manning (Peyton) or Elway.

John Dorsey said he knew back in October -- October !! Before he was even hired by the Browns -- that if he had the #1 pick, it'd be Mayfield. I doubt anybody at that time had him even Top 10.

  12. Different style players.

Bosa is more of a power rusher w a good get off, burst & decent flexibilility to bend the edge as well as disengage.

Allen is a speed rusher & his game is more about movement skills & length. That means hes more agile, better in space, better changing direction. To your point he has the potential to become more stout at the point of attack as well more powerful as a bull rusher.

So basically..Both will be great pass rushers.Bosa projects as a plus run defender but offers little in pass coverage.Allen is off the charts in pass coverage & is decent against run w room to improve. I give the slight edge to Allen.

That said for the Jets?Im taking Bosa.He brings a toughness this team needs

Wow, I had not read that. October sounds a bit premature to make such a decision . He might be telling the truth but I would guess he was more likely trying to sell his pick of Mayfield to Browns fans or the media. Although, I give him a lot of credit for not taking the safe pick in Sam and taking the guy he believed was better for the Browns. That shows a lot of courage. Not all GMs would be willing to take the heat for drafting Mayfield when most of their fans and media were expecting Darnold.

Free Agency can't come soon enough. A lot of questions will be answered how the Draft rolls .

When the Jets fill their need for Edge in FA plus a couple of Corners

I can't wait to hear the collective jaw dropping when we trade down

I think Allen will be the better player than Bosa..
That's the guy I want (short of a tits trade to move back)..

I prefer trading down unless Bosa or Allen falls. Even if they do, if we get a big haul then I suppose that would still justify it.

However, I dont know why in that Bosa/Allen falls to us scenario the Jets wouldnt want to just draft one of those guys. You are essentially what mocks to an elite pass rusher and have salary control of them for years.

He told SI.com that tidbit a week or so ago....long after Mayfield had justified the pick. It wasn't said about the time of the 2018 Draft.

Dorsey has never been known to be a BS'er so I give it credibility.

Kurt, you think pass coverage (Allen) should figure into a team's decision of Bosa vs. Allen ?

What if we don't get a haul -- what if point-wise on that JJ Draft Value thing we only get 20% more in points ? Hauls in the past have been 40-60% more in points I believe. You still want to trade down ?

Unless Allen and Bosa are taken 1-2 in some order, we get a shot at one of them. I think the teams at 6-12 will be moving up. It won't be prohibitive like it was for the Redskins or Chargers (1998) but will cost.

Sign Clowney or Lawrence, then draft Bosa.

That DL with Leonard Williams in between them would be disgusting.
