How much longer can we endure?!?! This is painful. I am ready to jump ship and it truly bothers me to say that. Why have the Jet organization done anything to give us (as fans) something to get excited for? Believe me... After week 1, I was VERY hopeful with a 48-17 thrashing of the Lions. The Jets seemed to be clicking on all cylinders. But then.... reality set in as we lost our next three, one was to the Browns! Yeah, I know, we won the next two, but I KNEW that it was just a matter of time for MY NY JETS to resurface. And, they did! Losing the next six! One of them being an ass-whooping by the pitiful Bills. Tell me, what the hell are they doing!?!?! And, why do they continue to put garbage on the field?!?! I am sure I am going to hear some smack coming back at me, but PLEASE understand... I am just SO FRUSTRATED
No kidding. I was 18 in Jan '69. I think it's cute when the neophytes can't handle some prolonged adversity. #eyeroll
Wait a minute. Are you telling us the Jets won their first game big? Then lost their next 3? Then won their next 2? Then lost their next 6? When did all of this happen?
To be fair, we all knew this season wasn't going to be great with a rookie QB in his first year. The Jets weren't going to contend regardless, so sucking badly is a blessing in disguise for higher draft position. Every year the Jets get meaningless wins at the end of the season to screw their draft position, it looks like they are finally not going to do that. We need to be patient and let them finish the rebuild they started in 2016, which means $100m to spend plus a Top 3 draft pick most likely and bringing in a real OC / HC. Next year the Jets should take a step forward, and then the following year they could potentially contend if this year's moves work out and Sam shows to be consistent. IMO it's 60% coaching and 40% talent causing the issues.
Where does ownership fit into that equation? As has been pointed out, Woody seems like a guy more interested in stamps and model trains then football. He cares so much about the Jets that he left his completely unknown brother in charge of the team and went overseas. If the top guy isn’t fully invested, or worse, doesn’t care, why should anyone else?
Woody didn't know his brother before leaving him in charge of the team? Sorry, couldn't resist being a smart ass. Carry on.
the only step forward is to can both mac and bowles. they’ve both had ample time to show that they can’t build or develop a team. yes they got sam but risk ruining him physically and mentally. giving them another year and 100 million is actually the definition of insanity as in doing same thing over and over and expecting different results. this is a clean out scenario.. use the money, qb, and a high pick for new football president. anything half ass will extend the misery. Last(realistic) chance for a division win. Lose this one and the Jets drop to 0-5 with only a road game at NE.
Being a Jets fans means being ready to jump. BUT NEVER DOING IT. What will you do, run to Models for a discounted Eli jersey? You've fallen in love with turquoise? Brady has finally worn you down and you can no longer resist? Someone leave a yellow towel on your car, you waved it, and it felt so good?
I see that welcoming committee of @FJF @joe and @Rollo Tomassi has chimed in. Surprising thing for me is @Dierking not saying “Bunch of savages”. Tough crowd. Lol.
How does one even get "ready"? How can a person CHOOSE to stop loving one thing and start loving something else? "Human females have broken my heart for the last time. Fucking done with this shit. Giraffes are consistently better. Llamas too. Ostriches. So many better species out there. I just have to decide which one I should become sexually attracted to."
