I love Rod's as well. Delmanico is my favorite. For me, it is Medium. :)

Honestly, I went to Rod's a couple months back and wasn't all that impressed by the steak. I got the Delmonico as well, cooked rare. I feel like I could have cooked it better myself on a propane grill. Don't get me wrong I love the design and the layout of the restaurant and they do have good staff and some really cool things. For example the way they prepare the irish coffee, and also the blue cheese topping.

I just thought the steak itself wasn't on par with other restaurants, including Arthur's. I'm not saying it was bad or anything, just not as "top notch" as I'd expect.

Anybody else feels like @GQMartin is showing off? I was expecting steak authority @Rollo Tomassi to dominate the thread but it is other way around. Lol.

I think we should settle this. Brook, Sam Hammer and GQMartin should meet up and go to Arthur’s one month and to Rod’s the other. Any objections?

And when they're done everyone can go to a half dozen places in the city for better steaks.

The ribeye at J&K in Morristown was on point. Didn’t realize it’s a BYOB though.

That said. 150$ for two is very reasonable.

Fair. Some places have off nights. Stinks you had a mediocre experience there. It’s a very sentimental place for me so that may be affecting my perception.

I wouldn’t put it in the top steakhouses I’ve been but I feel like it’s solid.

I 100% agree about Arthur’s. The price / quality ratio is off the charts.

I think he is showing a lower profile under his Rollo identity. I love Stokes.

Also, believe it or not, NYY Steak(both the stadium and Manhattan locations, manhattan obviously being a better “upscale” experience) is actually very good and a great experience if you’re a Yanks fan. The beef is sourced from Lobel’s of NY which is one of the best in the biz. I think they have some sort of partnership deal with the Yankees for the steakhouse and at the stadium.

Had a chance to eat in “the Vault” with a few buddies, the one guys family has been season ticket holders for 50+ yrs and managed to pull some strings. Super cool experience if you’re a fan of the game regardless of being a Yankees fan or not.
The Babe Ruth trade papers and several contracts were in there amongst a bunch of other cool things.

Either will do. There's also Wolfgang's in a few locations with their ties to Luger's and nicer surroundings.

Rollo persona isn’t posting any pictures. Also more peaceful. Not used to it.
