I had higher hopes for Stewart than Hansen. But it appears Hansen has been lighting it up and the Jets are hoping to use him in a "Garcon type role". Hansen is definitely someone to watch this summer.

Just hope they can develop. Sometimes it takes time with WRs, especially those that are drafted to teams with QBs that are limited

  4. Also in a WCO which demands very precise route running, timing oriented & emphasizes YAC.

I think these 2 youngsters actually compliment each other very well which is interesting. I also no longer doubt either’s physical talent..both have an NFL skillset to make plays.

If they fail it’s due to poor player development by team, mental inadequicies, health or lack of commitment.

I'm pretty high on Hansen at this point myself. He looked like he could be a nice possession type guy at the end of the season when McCown started to use him.
Stewart is one of the guys I'll be keying on this preseason to see if he can take a step up and hopefully show signs of being A playmaker. It would be a big boost for the team

I'm pumping the brakes with Hansen. I know the beat writers are in love but the concern with Hansen is how he's going to hold up physically. How he's going to get off the line, take a hit, etc. Therefore, no matter how good he looks in minicamp it tells us nothing since they aren't hitting.

All you need to know is Chad Hansen made Davis Webb look awesome at Cal. I think he emerges as the slot guy this year.

Why the concern on how a 6' 2" 205 lbs WR could hold up? He doesn't seem fragile to me.

6' 1"/205 lb WR can be VERY fragile.

    [Think Austin Collie]

I think both stays. And develop with Darnold. And have a long prosperous career at Florham Park.

he is definitely smaller than what he's listed but that's not really my point, he had trouble getting off the line in college.

He broke from the snap too "tall" and he doesn't like contact. Combine that with a small frame and its a big concern. I'm glad he's doing well in OTAs but my expectations are absolutely tempered here until I see him perform when the big boys start hittin'.

    Huh?

    https://www.profootballfocus.com/news/draft-pff-scouting-report-chad-hansen-wr-california

And there are other scouting reports from lesser websites that I won't even include that also beg to differ with your assessment.

That's not the point. Much bigger players have been injured, no question. Why would you go into a season questioning the ability of a 6' 2" player to stay healthy though? You would have to say that about every player on the roster.

Getting off the line has nothing to do with staying healthy.

Actually it has a lot to do with it as that's a physical part of the game for recievers. But that's not even what I said. I guess you misunderstood my statements. Whatever it ain't a big deal anyway

Well nfl.com's is written by a guy that's been covering the game for a little while, but still. I guess I just want to know where you got that notion from.

    Or wrong :)

He looked good at the end of last year in games. There's good reason to be hopeful. A guy that could very well have adjusted and will compete.

It would be really nice if Stewart did tho.
