seems like a decent enough depth guy since we are thin after maye and adams at the position and injuries happen
I'd assume it means he was down to the Jets and Niners then flipped his decision when it was time to put pen to paper.
The competition for S depth just got that much tougher. Actually the competition has gotten tougher pretty much across the roster. Which is a good thing.
Terrance Brooks is a lock to make team imo. Wilcox would be competing with Rontez Miles who just signed a new 1 year deal with us, along with Doug Middleton, for the last S roster spot. In other words, I think he'd need an injury just to make the team.
Maye is out until training camp as well, so more camp bodies can't hurt while Maye is getting healthy
It must be that Todd Bowles mystique..come to the Jets Country Club Don't forget to bring your bathing suit and flip flops
What does this mean? Is wanting to play for Bowles a metaphor for the Jets making a better deal or does he have some reason to want to actually work for Bowles? These are the questions reporters should be answering, not creating.
Nice to say that we actually have a strength on our roster at safety. Keep up the good work Mac. Lets get our pass rusher next year.
I agree Brooks likely makes the team based on his week 14 game vs Miami last year. Miles and Middleton have zero guaranteed money on their deals and can be replaced with no cap hits. Even Brooks could be released as his deal is essentially a one year deal ( Jets hold an option for 2019 )with nearly all his money coming as per game roster bonuses. $200k per game. If he out performs any of the 3, he will make the roster. If he even signs here that is...
If you put your hatred for Bowles aside, the question has already been answered. I don’t know how many times it’s been said that players love playing for Bowles.
This whole thing seems to be Shefter trying to cover his ass. Wilcox was meeting with the 49s and Shefter, trying to be first , reported Wilcox had signed. I'd bet it was a visit and he had the Jets visit already scheduled.
its not really praise for todd bowles to report that some jag safety wanted to play for him. I'm not a bowles hater really but you need a new standard for what you consider praise
You should look up the definition of praise. Also it’s not about Wilcox it’s about the overwhelming support Bowles has from the players and this is just another example of it.
