He has referred to himself as lazy in the past and earned that nickname back in Clemson.

Let’s not forget John Abraham’s DUI.

He won't have any league suspension until the 2019 season. Just like every DUI, they don't suspend until the legal case is over.

Once again, he labeled himself lazy after his freshman season and then stepped it up. Background info is key.

So 5 years ago as a college freshman he noticed his game wasn't all there and called himself lazy. He picked up his attitude and game so much that the coaches considered him a leader. To keep using that label is not accurate in the least, yet for some reason you want to keep using it.

Lol at this being Bowles fault. Mac drafted the guy. He's met Bowles for like 5 practices.

The problem isn't Macc or the Jets doing a poor job of vetting, the problem is a sports culture that tolerates stupid, even criminal, behavior as long as it means the team wins. We've gone a long way from "It's not whether you win or lose, it's how you play the game", to "Win at any and all costs and everything is forgiven". No matter who you draft or sign there's a good chance he'll do something dumb.

Since when is it just sports culture? Movie stars, musicians of all types, hell, any so-called celebrity, can do all sorts of stupid/illegal shit and have it tolerated. You don't see many tours or movies getting boycotted do you. And why stop there? How many wealthy entitled kids do this sort of stuff and get away with because Mom and Dad have money and influence? I can't see it affecting their prospects either. Fuck up badly and game over. Anything else is just hijinks. It's not sports culture, it's all western culture.

damn this is really frustrating. to good news (i guess) is that we have a lot of bodies at TE. But really, Herndon. WTF.

But more importantly than our depth chart, I'm glad nobody died.

Why can’t these guys just smoke some pot after testing is done instead of getting pissed face drunk and driving?

When I was pledging, we were required to take alcohol awareness classes (not sure if they worked).

The New York Jets need to grind this stuff into the players' heads.

He turns 21 today. Let's hope he has a casual beer and that's that :D .

But really. Herndon is a real dummy for this. Curious if the Jets cut bait or sit tight and try to make it work.

because while under the influence, ."when in doubt: don't" vigilance flies out the window leading to bad decisions.

While fortunately no one was killed Herndon should be jailed for totaling that 79 year old's FJ-40 Land Cruiser, a gem
    [IMG]

....not to be confused with the cheesy FJ Cruiser that came later.
