Oof, that throw by Teddy around the 1 minute mark. He should have stuck with 2, I think 5 is forever cursed.

Darnold looks way better than last week. At this rate of improvement, by next week he'll be better than Brady. Super Bowl baby!

Maybe its just me, but I just don't see how anyone can extract anything from these no pad, no pressure throws. How is this different from what we did as kids in the backyard? Even back then someone would count to 7 mississippi and rush you.

Well yeah but isn’t anyone concerned that the Giants and Broncos passed on QBs.

  7. Under normal circumstances,no you dont take much of anything from throws against air in OTAs or any practice scenario.

However,in the Jets case where the QB situation/passing game has been so dire & these type of drills have been hard on the eyes in years past that it’s at least encouraging to see real arm talent & competence at even the most elementary level

Which is why I called it a tease.

Take the video any way you want.

It’s nice that he’s at least consistently accurate against air. More than can be said about some past QBs we’ve drafted...

Just saying, but many here that dismiss the OTA performance as. " nothing but throwing against air" would freak out if if he missed a few and call him a bust. So while it doesn't mean much, is still a good first step. Let's take good news in stride fellows, there is a reason while OTAs are beneficial.

The video isn't what caused the rave reviews. His work in the 11 on 11's, with the starters against the starting D for the first time is where he did extremely well. Cimini and others said he was 8 of 10 with a few great, long completions. They weren't allowed to video that session.

OTA's are helpful for rookies above all. They need to see the pro receiver tree being run. Then they have to learn to look off some targets and try to beat the d. That's what Sam should be seeing.

You know what most impresses me? That tree. Looks bigger than in previous years. It's really grown into it's own and seems to be primed for a big growing season. Let's hope the leaves don't fall off. Very happy Mac didn't trade that tree. Sheldon pissed on that tree, which is one of the reasons he's gone. Robby attempted to, but was arrested before he could get within stream-distance.

Enjoyed the video. Tree looks awesome ; )

How many times has Darnold hit the media with a football so far? These are the answers we need!
