Does it concern you that the Giants and Broncos passed on QB’s?

This is pure Gold, had the Browns taken Darnlold you would right now have a Mayfield picture under your name, and be telling everyone how lucky the Jets are that the Browns were dumb enough to take Darnold over him. How pathetic do you have to be to build up these fantasies to justify the player actually got?
Unless you were in the room, you will never no who they liked more, and guess what, it really doesn't matter anymore, the Jets have the same 50-50 shot that the Browns, Bills, and Cardinals have. Historical odds say at least two of these teams will be looking for a QB again very soon. You can kick cry and scream about how the Jets got the right guy, but the reality is it could Jets as anyone of the other three.

I think both the Giants and Broncos made huge mistakes. No idea why either of those teams see themselves as win now when if you combined both of their win totals they still don’t make the playoffs.

I can somewhat understand it a bit more for the Broncos given 2 QBs were already drafted and they just paid big money to a starting QB that is not old. The Giants though? they have a 38yr old QB that hasn’t been good in years and a roster devoid of high end talent. 38 yr old QBs that haven’t been good in years don’t all of a sudden get good again at 38yrs old. And for anyone that mentions that all his WRs got hurt last year, I’ll preempt that by stating the fact that they were already 0-5 and season was toast by the time the injury bug truly kicked in. I love Barkley as a prospect but Giants are gonna regret this decision for years if Darnold becomes as good as I think he will be.

That's the entire point, you think Darnold will be great, they think Barkley will be, maybe you're both wrong. The bottom line is that the fan bases of every team in the NFL believe they got it right, and the truth is they didn't. Darnold could be great, but the odds show that it's just as likely that he's a bust, only time will tell.

It doesn’t matter if Barkley is great, he probably will be but he’s a RB and doesn’t even scratch the level of importance as a QB. Giants passed on 3 top 10 QB prospects, if any one of them become great Giants made a huge mistake.

That may well be true, but anyone of, or even all of those QB's could suck. If that's the cans or even if those QB's are just average and the Giants picked an elite RB, the perception changes quite a bit. The bottom line is there are Jet fans on this site right now getting way too carried away.

It's still possible because cleveland had the 1 and 4 picks. Mayfield was their guy, but maybe they felt they could get him at 4 and use the 1st pick on barkley. That's why the rumor for them was darnold or allen. a smokescreen they put out hoping to land mayfield at 4 knowing that barkely won't be there at 4. If they take barkely 1st, the giants could have taken chubb or darnold or traded down and the jets take mayfield at 4 screws up clevelands plan leaving them with rosen and maybe darnold depending on what the giants did. so the jets showing interest in mayfield made them take him 1st so we didn't take them before they pick 3rd, which in turn freed up barkley who the giants jumped on, allowing darnold to fall to the jets at 3 like we wanted all along. If it was an elaborate ruse, it was played to perfection. Of course this is speculation and it could have been dumb luck of Cleveland doing their best job to remain the worst team in the NFL

No one is getting carried away, we have every right to be excited after drafting the best QB prospect the Jets have had since Joe Namath. Obviously we don’t know what it will look like years down the line but thanks for pointing that out captain obvious.

At this point in time though, drafting a great RB prospect over a great QB prospect when you don’t have a QB is stupid every time.

Really? Have you seen what some of your fellow fans have been posting? Excited sure who wouldn't be after the crap that useless ownership has been feeding Jets fans for decades.

If the Browns thought we weren't interested in Mayfield, they might have taken Barkley at 1 and waited for Mayfield to fall to 4. That would have actually screwed us over because with Barkley off the board, Darnold would've gone at 2 to the Giants or some other team. So it would've made sense for Mac to leak interest in Mayfield, assuming he was smart enough to think of it.

Maybe, or maybe Mac simply wanted Mayfield and the Jets ended up with their second choice.
