Get it done mac! o-line is a huge need. he has talent, I really liked him in last years draft. He's had some medical issues but could provide nice depth after he puts on some weight and start eventually

    Article here
The New England Patriots have released offensive tackle Antonio Garcia according to Mike Reiss of ESPN.

It is a shocking move considering the team traded up to nab Garcia in the third round out of Troy just one year ago. Garcia missed his entire rookie season while battling blood clots in his lungs but had been declared fully healthy and cleared to play in late March. Just a week ago the Patriots were talking about the 24-year-old as a legitimate option to replace Nate Solder at left tackle. Garcia did lose 40 pounds during his medical ordeal so conditioning may have been an issue. Apparently the Patriots lost patience but, given his talent, it will likely not take Garcia long to resurface in the NFL.

He should go to waivers. Mac will probably put in a claim but who knows if we get him

good thing about waivers, there are only 5 teams in front of us priority wise.

If a team behind us in waiver priority gets him then Mac needs to be tarred, feathered and dragged through the east Rutherford swamps. You don't turn down young free assests for the o line. Get it done

Since we traded our #6 with the Colts to get to #3, that doesn't in turn move us up the waiver wire?

Pretty sure waiver wire position is static to the season records.

He’s probably in a gang. The Pats have a zero tolerance policy on that now days.

Nate Soder signed with the NYG and they still cut this guy?

Lost 40 lbs. - sounds like a waif put on waivers.

he is esentially a rookie since an injury caused him to miss his entire rookie campaign, but from the draft, he was considered an eventual starter with the right coaching and some years experience. worse case, he's solid depth

Talent certainly doesn't seem to have been an issue with him, so obviously the Patriots must feel that he can't recover from his medical issues, despite the pronouncement that he is "completely healthy." If they're wrong and he becomes a contributor for the Jets they'll end up looking pretty bad.
