I agree with you, but I do like the Ron Wolf philosophy of picking one every year. Only now we can do this on day 3 instead of pick 3.
Love to see us take Jonah Williams, if he declares. 2 Year starter at Bama - Year 1 RT and moved over to LT in Year 2, in place of Cam Robinson, very versatile.
We need to figure out how to get a day 2 pick. Wondering if we get a pick just outside of the top 10 if we trade down
Depends I guess. If he is by far your highest grades player, then either trade out of the pick, if possible, or just take him. Depends on round also. Picking a QB like that at pick 16 next year would be... complicated...
I could very easily see Darnold as the only QB back from this year in 2019. Josh could retire/coach/maybe come back cheap. Teddy gone if knee never recovers or traded in 2018 if looks good. Hack hacked.
I would love to be high enough in the draft that someone wants our pick to get a QB. Perhaps recoup our traded second rounder. Lots of OT and Edge rushers in preliminary lists.
I know hes a DT, but Houston's Ed Oliver is a fucking freak ... dude is doing DB drills This guy and Bosa is going to provide hella value.
Nice to see that theres some highly rated OTs. Now that we (hopefully) have our QB, thats the biggest position of need
1.Edge 2.OL 3.#1 WR Teams 3 biggest needs & all 3 are positions of strength based on very early projections. Been watching some of the OTs & WRs..am excited to see what progress they make & who lives up to the early hype
Whether he comes out in the 2019 draft remains to be seen, but strange that this article didn't even mention Justine Herbert, QB, Oregon. Watch Miami snap him up early if available. Since the focus seems to be on pass rushers and blind side protection (LT): Edge/DL: Ed Henry, Houston; Nick Bosa, OSU; Josh Allen, Kentucky (DL overall: Clemson's DL (Dexter Lawrence, Clelin Ferrell, Christian Wilkins), Rashan Gary, Michigan, Jeffrey Simmons, Miss. St., Raekwon Davis, 'Bama, ). OL: Greg Little, LT, Miss.; Jonah WIlliams, LT, Alabama, Michael Deiter, LT, Wisconsin, Trey Adams, LT, Wash. (ACL?). (OL overall: Wisconsin's OL (Benzschawel, Deiter, Edwards), OSU, with Oregon in the later rounds). .
Ed Oliver is a complete beast. The Aaron Donald comps are there for a reason. Dude won the Outland trophy last year (over Quentin Nelson, which should tell you something right there). And that d-back drill video above, man. Edge and OL are probably the most obvious long-term needs for us. Next year's DL class is stacked, generally, but I'm hoping Shepherd and Williams look good enough next year that it's not a pressing need.
