If something is seriously wrong with Degrom the season is a wrap!

Why the fuck does this continue to happen to us.

    It’s deGrom and Thor.

    It can’t just be Thor.

And not only is deGrom hurt, but the two guys under 30 who I said might be doing okay (Sewald and Gsellman) were now also awful.

At least we made it into May before the season ended.

Mickey said he hurt it swinging a bat. This is terrible news.

More gross incompetence from the Mets - swept at home in a three-game series against the Braves while being outscored 21-2. Vargas once again looks awful, and Harvey makes his case for rejoining the rotation by giving up 5 earned runs in 2 innings pitched. I expect that the Mets will be in fourth place a week from now, where they will stay for the rest of the season (if they fall behind the Marlins Alderson will be gone, and perhaps Callaway with him).

But hey, all of us who thought that that game against the Nats could be the turning point of the season were really stupid, weren't we? And yes, I'm going to keep pounding on that until I hear Keith and Ronnie acknowledge that we were right and they were wrong.

I didn’t necessarily expect it to happen quite this soon, but is anyone surprised that the divorce between the Mets and Harvey would end up being an ugly one? When he was good and when he was bad, he was always an asshole.

Has any pitcher ever recovered from surgery for thoracic outlet syndrome and returned to pre-injury form?

Harvey's fall just shows that if you want to act like a diva and a rock star, you damn well better produce on the field.

He'll get picked up by some team. There's always a pitching coach out there who thinks, "Hey, I can fix this guy in 15 minutes."

Harvey's decline is sad, but he's an awfully difficult guy to have sympathy for.

Refusing a very reasonable minor league assignment. Either he's 100% delusional or he wanted off this team in the worst way. I mean with the way he's pitched a minor league stint would be a requirement from any team interested. I really liked him despite everything but whatever to him now.

Mets pitching continues to just be great. What a first inning from Wheeler.

Yeah, it seems like a stupid decision on Harvey's part, but how much of it was him and how much was Scott Boras?

I have absolutely no patience for his nonsense, but there is a real argument that the best thing for him is to get out of the organization to see if someone else can possibly fix him. For that reason, going to the minors for another organization (as he certainly will do) is different than doing so for the Mets.

    But ultimately, F him.

So we're now the stage that only being down 3 runs at the end of the first inning is actually a victory, huh?

The rise and fall of the Dark Knight. When push came to shove he put it on the line in '15 and helped get them to the WS coming off the TJ surgery. He pitched the most innings of any pitcher coming off of that surgery while competing his ass off.

It's tough to watch a guy like Wheeler looking like fuckin Opie Taylor out there trying to find his mechanics instead of competing when we've seen such great competitors over the years on the mound.

Mets score 5 runs in the 8th and 9th, but Conforto completes the golden sombrero to leave the tying and winning runs in scoring position.

Just amazing how things just don't get better for this team.

Thankfully we dumped Matt before another Cinco De Mayo disaster.
