With the Bills sitting at #12 & the jets desperate at #6, I'm not sure the Browns pass on the QB at #1. They would need to have their #3 QB rated nearly as high as their #1 QB to play that sort of game. It's unlikely that any team likes 3 guys that similarly.
If Mac wanted to quiet the shitstorm that is brewing right now he’d make Cleveland an offer they couldn’t refuse right now.
Mac covets draft picks more than available salary cap. He won't even offer players market value contracts, what makes us think he will offer a more lucrative deal to secure a higher pick. 99% we are drafting at #6. Probably get stuck with Rudolph.
My bad. Thought you meant Rudolph at 6. The shelves won't be bare at 6. If Barkley, Rosen, Darnold, and Mayfield were all gone (which I think is unlikely)...that means that players like Chubb and/or Nelson will be there. Don't get me wrong, I still want Mayfield or Rosen, but Chubb/Nelson wouldn't be a bad thing.
March 14 and 15 are Mayfield and Rosen's pro days respectively. There should be enough information after Rosen's day to have confidence in trading up. If I'm Mac, and I'm okay with either QB, I'm moving up to 3 by the end of the week. The problem is, if Mac only likes 1 QB, there wouldn't be a point in trading up.
Hopefully the Bills trading up for the wrong QB helps push Baker and Rosen to us. Gotta get that strong arm for the cold Buffalo winters!
I disagree. If there's only one QB he likes, that's all the more reason to trade up (conditionally on that player being there). Conversely, if he likes 2 or more QBs, there's less reason to trade up because the chances are greater that one of them would fall to #6.
My comment was specifically relating to moving up to 3rd. If there’s only 1 I like, I have to go to the first pick, can’t risk it. My scenario is predicated on Cleveland not wanting to trade and Giants not dealing with Jets.
