Its either "the dog in him" or his dance moves ... Yeah no one likes Rosen, I've been reading into those ... they don't attend his birthday parties lol per rumors ... could it be Cutler / Super talented version of Connor Cook?
Disagree..as a matter of fact one commentator even said the Bulldog defense DBs were tight and were only allowing BM a small window to throw in.. We get him ..or Rosen or Allen ..everyone should be quite happy..lotsa talent to choose from
I'm not really buying the press that "no one" likes Rosen. I think the fact that he speaks his mind publicly will put a press bullseye on his back that other players likely won't deal with. The only things I find concerning about Rosen is the concussion history and he's also got the potential to be an INT machine. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
Gotta wait and see exactly why there's these knocks on him. No doubt it could be over blown tho. I thought it definitely killed Conner Cook and it may have revealed shortcomings that Cook had that he didn't have a good makeup to succeed. Of course that could be bs and Cook may rise yet, lol. It definitley dropped his stock tho. The thing about the makeup of a guy is exactly why I like Mayfield.
He's very intelligent, but at the same time you have to be humble. I mean I like a QB that studies and learns the playbook and adds their advice, but don't continuously argue with coaches about a system. Arrogance is a great fuel to make you either great or fall flat on your face if you don't want to learn.
I like Mayfield's story, something out of nothing ... makes it sound like he won't take things for granted. He's not nearly the talented passer of Rosen, but if he can work on his craft, I might be on board with the kid. I like the fact that he's attending the Senior Bowl a lot. Seems to be very coachable. I still feel Mayfield has limitations.
I agree. I wonder if he can cut it in the pocket. I think he can read a D and sees the field well and that might half the battle. We'll get a closer look at the Sr. Bowl and Combine
Humble to a point. QB is not the best position for a silent leader. Their role is field general, they need to be the alpha in the huddle. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
Some are fake alphas for sure, the biggest example of a true beta is geno smith, can't imagine that guy leading anybody
If you've seen any of his games, you will have noticed he is quite agile and has a knack for moving away from pressure and thus extending plays. I feel that is his most valuable asset as he moves to the next level. Some have criticized this as having happy feet which is ridiculous. Happy feet is a QB moving his feet in the pocket without doing anything with them. As for the Senior Bowl, you're not going to learn anything about his pocket presence there because they don't allow blitzing. Afterthought: After re-reading your post, you expressed concern about his pocket presence which is a legitimate concern because much of his success has come from being able to move out of the pocket to extend plays. Georgia's strategy was to confine him to the pocket and make him throw from there which was effective in the Rose Bowl. Still, I would rather have a QB who has a knack for extending plays outside the pocket when the pocket collapses which most of the greats are able to do.
Level of competition will be much higher, so we will see if he can pick up a quick offense and make nfl caliber throws on a consistent basis. That's been a knock on him. 2nd half against Georgia he wasn't able to extend plays.
Without venturing into the territory of making excuses, I think Mayfield got the shit beat out of him in the 2nd half, notably the knee to the ribs he took. I don't think anyone would be right after a hit like that. It *might* explain why his effectiveness dropped a peg in that situation. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

That was a tough hit, it really was. I thought it might knock him out of the game, and was kinda surprised he was able to keep going. He's a tough guy.
He took some big hits in that game, that definitely threw his game off. Threw off the coaches game too cause they got some damn cute and conservative.
Right, that's my thinking. Not so much presence, just if he can adjust to it and be accomplished. I believe he will be able to read D's, see the field, and will not be nervous, but it's easier said than done. So it's prolly what it will come down to with him as far as where teams think his ultimate value will be. I think he can throw better that Wilson tho. If he was 6'3" he'd prolly be a lock top 3 guy. That's the reason Wilson fell, and prolly Brees too although I don't know that. So we have to keep that in mind
