People call Brady the greatest of all time, yet he is so insecure he forced a trade of a true franchise QB just to keep his starting job. Sad. Hopefully Jimmy G wins a couple Super Bowls and MVP's in San Francisco. Belichick should bolt to a rival and beat the shit out of the Patriots for the next couple years. This is a rare time I side with the hoodie.

If Bill, Tom, or Bob in the near future say this story is crap; then this is another bogus Patriot story by ESPN. On the other hand if nothing is said other than we are preparing for our next game, then the story may have some validity.

As a general rule Kraft has not stuck his nose in football operations only when it involved serious issues like Hernandez. I am pretty sure the future of Brady has been discussed between Brady and the Pats. Brady has always been loyal and made financial sacrifices for the team. Jimmy G was probably the one with the ultimatum because he was not going to stick around another two years waiting for Brady. This would have forced the Patriots to franchise Jimmy G who would get more money than Brady as a backup. The rule has always been nobody gets more money than Brady.

The Patriots dynasty will not last forever. Belichick is 65 and I can't see him doing this forever. If after this year is the end, all I can say is they really dominated the NFL like no other team. Belichick and Brady will go down as legends.

If the story is correct and Belichick is pissed, it would be funny to see him become the next Jets coach and GM. It will also be funny to see all the hypocrites on the board call him great when he was previously called Belicheat.

He would never come to the Jets. He hates the team, Steve Gutman, and some employees who he think linked his romantic rendevous in the Meadowlands with "Sharon." :D

We wouldn't want him anyway. Without Brady, he's Cleveland Bill, without Nick Saban to help him. He screwed us, lied to us, and left us hanging as we had an ownership transition -- about as low as you can go. Leon Hess OK'd the super-generous contract to him and rescued him from the scrap heap on Parcell's OK.

Soon as Mr. Hess dies, Belichick stabbed us.

Your recollection of the past is missing some important details. The Jets coach was Bill Parcells and the Defensive Coordinator was Bill Belichick. The Patriots offered Belichick a head coaching position and he accepted. When Parcells found out, he resigned as your head coach and tried to have Belichick promoted to head coach. This was not done because he wanted Belichick as your head coach, this was done to screw Kraft. Belichick did not want to go along with Parcell's game and was furious. So Belichick resigned immediately as your head coach for good reason. What Parcells did was perfectly legal by NFL rules but violated a coaching code. The code being you don't stop your assistants from getting better jobs elsewhere. This is why as of today Belichick hates Parcells and the Jets.

So if anyone screwed the Jets it was Parcells who decided not to stick around. Looking back had the Jets gone after Belichick instead of Parcells, they may be the ones with all the Super Bowls and Tom Brady. But you can't blame them for going after Parcells then, he was more of a proven winner coach then Belichick.

So I am still puzzled to this day that Jets fans aren't pissed at Parcells for abandoning them. This was not the first time Parcells left a team high and dry. Ask the Giants, Pats, and the Cowboys! So you are bitching about the wrong Bill.

You're feeling mighty insecure about the potential that this article is true eh?

There's no need for us to be mad at Parcells. The past is the past; hand wringing about it won't change a thing.

All that matters is today and tomorrow.

    The ESPN article is excellent. Here's the Jets mention;
"On Sunday, the moment -- their moment -- seemed as alive as ever, to the outside. Belichick ordered the field crew to hang thermometers in the hallway outside of the Jets' locker room, just to mess with a franchise he still hates so much that he barely mentions his years there in the Patriots' media guide."

Not a chance Brady-Belichick split if they win this year. The 3 peat lure would loom large, lets be serious.

Who cares about Tom and his cult diet ...LMAO

It's too bad Bill B didn't stay on as HC of the Jets and a different drama unfolded

Belichek would have won without Brady or drafted a future Brady...he is that good

Without Belichick Brady would be another one of those great QB's with single championship like Drew Brees or Aardon Rodgers. With Belichick he has 5 rings.

Belichick would eventually find his QB and won 2-3 rings by himself.

Special one is Belichick not Brady.

Interesting Pats tilted view of history,

Belly was not DC he was the assistant HC, who in his contract was already named as being the head coach when Parcells stepped down.
It was also pretty much known at the time of hire that Parcells was only going to be a coaching a few years.

Exactly....the Pats tampered with Belichick as a way to get back at Parcells, who Kraft was teed off at. Will McDonough of The Boston Globe was the grease between the wheels.

The Pats tampered, lied about it, then tried to cover their asses.

Actually, BB was both DC and assistant HC. i do not recall the promotion was in BB's contract but that Parcells arranged it with the Jets, and why BB was not happy, but you may be correct.

For what it is worth the relationship between the Jets and Pats regarding coaches and players is deeper than just BB, Parcell leaving in 1996 taking some players, Mangini, etc.

It is going to be interesting to see how things play out in the next few days and weeks and what comes out regarding points in the article.

Also, will be interesting to look back a few years down the road and see how accurate the points in the article play out.

That's been my team in the playoffs since 2011: Anyone playing the Patriots. I think the Chiefs, Steelers, Jaguars, Vikings, and Saints have a chance to beat them. Hope one pulls it off. Any of the 11. :)

I like how Patriots fans are just trying to paint this as the media trying to get at the Patriots again, as if there is some grand scheme to try to take them down.
