It's not clear Harper wants to be a Yankee.

Lots of talk he wants to play with Kris Bryant.

Anyway, what he wants or doesn't want is not entirely relevant.

He'll sign with the team that offers the most money. Scott Boras will insist on it.

Only a few teams can afford him.

    Verlander/Hill tonight.

Will be in the 90s at first pitch.

Am I the only one rooting against the Dodgers? I just don't want to see the snobs from LA win their championship. #NewYorkStrong

you're not the only one. Don't give much of a fuck either way, but the Astros seem like a likable team that's due.

The moment I heard that LA kept Granderson off the World Series roster I wanted Houston to win.

these starters are lucky if they're allowed to pitch 6 innings

FOX posted a really stupid graphic last night about how Charlie Morton was the first AL starter since Jack Morris to not allow a run in a Game 7.

Hey FOX, before this year, if a guy was pitching a shutout, he WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN PULLED AFTER FIVE INNINGS.

They're acting like 5 innings is a shutout.

That's three straight subpar starts for Dallas Keuchel in the post-season. If the Astros don't come back here they're in a whole lot of trouble.

I really thought the Dodgers would put up runs and the Astros wouldn't. I've been entertained!

And even more bad pitching after I said that! Entertaining, but I do miss the days where pitchers actually knew how to pitch.

Yeah, I've seen stories like that. I'd be more impressed if the pitchers gathered a bunch of balls and had them tested independently and showed that they were different. As long as the only people testing the balls says that they are the same there's no way to argue otherwise.

Everyone knows about how after 1968 hitting was so bad that they lowered the mound, but no one ever figured out why hitting went down so precipitously in only 5 years or so. The same thing may be going on here - something that no one will figure out, but is still having a profound effect on the game.
